so I have been working on trying to get some 4.30's back in to my 4runner front . I had munched up the ring gear in mine. So EVERY damn diff I come across has the damn blasted 4.10's in it.. I mean WTF.. I came across a steal on a roll over with a good running motor and by means of spinning the wheel and counting rotations on the yoke I had come up with 2 turns wheel with 4 and a lil over half turns on the yoke (one rear wheel lifted)... looks like 4.56.. I mean I did this scenario on mine and counted 2 wheel and 4 and a third on my yoke, so 4.30, which also matches the doorjamb identification of G284 for the 4.30... and the numbers on the roll over I picked up, that i counted 2 wheel and 4 and a half yoke turns, matches the numbers for 4.56 of G254. So I pulled the front diff out and low and behold 41 ring and 10 pinion.. a damned 4.10.(the damned ring gear even has a 4.5 stamped on it). i pulled the cover from mine previously and counted 43 to 10 so i know it is a 4.30....(my ring gear has a 4.3 stamped on it)
AM I MISSING SOMETHING. IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE EFFECTING THIS RATIO?... OR HAS TOYOTA JUST SLAPPED STICKERS ON WHATEVER...
SOOO DISAPPOINTED .. I just CANT find a damn 4.30....
If the donor was 4.56 I was going to swap front and rear or do an even trade for a 4.30 from a guy about an hour away. Now I cant do either and I dont want the 4.10's.... ugghhhhh I know it should be 41 ring and 9 pinion for the 4.56... sooo frustrated

Check e-bay. Just ring and pinion are not that expensive.

Depending on where you are, I can get used 3rds for $225. When I blew my front diff I just switched in another and was on my way the next day.

thats the whole point of the thread... everytime i come up with something it always ends up 4.10... i wanted the 4.56 that i supposedly got in this damn wreck.. but oh well.. im makin a profit on the roll over then more profit at the crusher

8" ring and pin will rand r into my front A.D.D. ?... hmmm... that sounds good enough..... $125??
I havent torn down one of these IFS diffs yet so that could be fun as well.

41 and 10? No, they're 4.30s. 43 and 10. The 7.5 is from an '86 without ADD, they'll fit your diff but check with your installer or ask ZUK (gearinstalls.com) which pinion bearing to use. It may be the same, but I don't know that for sure.
