Awesome JP. Can't wait to hear it. I'm a little jealous that you'll have a v8 rumble. But hopefully my 6 will sound decent with an exhaust.

I thought the vvti-v8 got the revised headers that are less prone to cracking? I know they have double cats now compared to regular v8.

If they did, they skipped mine! Got quite a loud exhaust leak from both manifolds. And, if the double cats are there, they're not stopping the sulfur smell at WOT.

So are those holes with the allen head bolts in them for the O2 sensors? Do these V8s have O2 sensors before and after the cats on the manifolds? Do the Pacesetters have provisions for all of the sensors, or do you have to leave the ones in the pipes in place below the flanges?
Reason I ask is because my flanges are visually rusted together and it looks to me like it will be impossible for the shop to separate the pipes at the flanges. Theyll likely have to cut the pipes somewhere... BUT there are O2 sensors immediately downstream from the flanges. This is going to be problematic.

From your profile picture it appears you don't have the mid-gen upgrade. Is your engine the vvti-v8? I know the vvti v8 came out in 2005 but I though it was only on the mid-generation refresh 4runners.

There were no improvements made to the overall design of the manifold no matter what year, including the 2006 facelift of the 4Runner, so the same crap manifold design that may leak on a 2003 can also leak on a 2007.
The only difference in the manifolds is the AIS tube added to the vvti engine in 2005.

*UPDATE*
Since installation my check engine light has come on 3 times. All three times were during long (more than an hour) drives. In all three instances the light turned off by itself after a day or two.
During the last instance I stopped at my mechanics shop and hooked up to his code reader. The code that is reading is "Catalytic Converter Efficiency". Apparently the computer does not like the high flow cats during long periods of highway cruising.
I am not overly concerned about this for now. I just hope that it doesn't trigger right before my next emissions test.

Any updates on this? I've seen headers around the net but weren't sure if they would work. I have an 05 Limited XREAS with vvt-i. JCWhitney.com has some Hedman Headers but I am not sure about quality because the price is so low. Less than $200 for the set.
Will an O2 sim be enough to get rid or CEL?

I have not replaced the O2 sensors yet. However, I am more frequently getting the check engine light.
I had my mechanic scan the codes and it is 100% an O2 sensor issue. The stock sensors do not like the high flow cats.
The light only comes on during extended time on the highway, and seems to be resetting itself after a day or two at the most. I have also had success resetting it by disconnecting the battery.

Mine isn't throwing any codes at all. Runs great, good power, good fuel efficiency. I've driven it slow and easy, and I've held the pedal to the mat 0-70, and I've towed a trailer and I don't have any CEL at all.
I just hope this manifold lasts another 100K. The flange is so much thicker than OEM that I imagine it probably will.

Not trying to down your mechanic but how did he tell you he determined it was definately an o2 problem? I did the same swap but installed all 4 sensors myself while truck was on lift and still get a po420 or po430 code(manifold running below threshhold). I did some research myself and cleared up the problem code by cleaning my mass air meter and ridding of my cone air intake and putting stock box back on. Cleared codes and have seen none since. Love the new found gas mileage, torque, and hp with these pacesetters and full on custom exhaust

Drivers side only. My passenger side OE is still holding up OK.
Used existing O2 sensors.
Only additional parts bought were some new studs and nuts.
