I've looked around threw threads and couldn't find any answers but I'm new too owning a 95 4runner SR5 w/4WD. It's been shifting fine the first few weeks but after a while I notice it's shifting oddly(erratic shift points) and not shifting into o/d. I've been trying to figure out what solenoids too look up for the transmission and or if there's a sensor that maybe malfunctioning.

There maybe a sensor or shift solenoid that could be the problem. Have you tried servicing the tranny
Yes I actually did do a trans flush but only a drain and refill but didn't change filter. Could not changing the filter cause the trans to act up?
Trans Fix
Remove all solenoids from the transmission. Test each one with current to find the bad solenoid (positive/negative) - the one that will not open and close when current is applied is the bad one. If you don't know how to test them, take them to a transmission shop. A good transmission guy will help at no charge, only takes a couple of minutes. Replacement cost for a solenoid is pretty cheap. Buy off of eBay for the best deal.

it can if its plugged up i dont know if it will cause what you have going on though
Thank you for your I will deffinitly give that a try because I didn't know you could test them but thank you.
I'll prob just change filter anyway and check the solenoids but thank you.
Would the check engine light stay on for a trans code or something? Cause there isn't any light on the dash that indicates a problem
