I don't think so either. And while I agree that he definitely has more years to win another, I'm not convinced it's going to happen with Love and Irvin.

Orpik should be gone from the Cap/Pen series.....and he should have to wear a skirt for a week......cheap, wuss

orpik's similar actions in the past were the reason shawn thornton pummelled him unconscious with a cheap-shot beat down. orpik refused to answer for his actions when given the choice by thornton. he refused, and still got mashed. not that he would have fared any better going toe-to-toe, as i believe thornton wanted to beat him silly, and would have.
however, it's pretty difficult to feel too much sympathy for the penguins, who employed a few career-ending cheap-shot artists of their own (see: samuelsson, ulf; cooke, matt) sometimes, what goes around comes around, and the pens are still owed a few.

I have no allegiance to either team but there is no place for that in what I think is the greatest of team sports. History or not, its cheap and needs to be eliminated by damaging the team he plays for by suspending him and taking $$$ from his personal pocketbook. Thats the only way to eliminate it.
Players policing themselves is old school and won't do anything to eliminate the behavior even if it is entertaining.

i don't disagree about needing to eliminate hits that target the head.
i don't disagree that orpik should be suspended.
i just don't feel bad for the penguins. i'm waiting for two of their superstars to have career ending injuries during their prime. then i'll feel sympathy for them.
edit: just to clarify, i'm not hoping for any career ending injuries to any penguins player. i'll only feel sympathy for the organization IF it happens. until then, any bad luck that happens to them is fine by me.

Wasn't surprised he was suspended at all. But was a bit surprised it was for three games.

Pretty good? They looked great. Quietest 5-0 start to a playoffs ever. Seems like ESPN is so focused on GS these days. I hope it's SA and GS in the Western Conference Finals and I hope Steph is back too. If so, that's going to be a great series.
And the M's are two over .500! If they can just be in the hunt for a playoff spot by the last few weeks of the season, I'd be super stoked.

I agree. I hate when they talk about correlating the suspension with the injury. If it's a bad hit, it's a bad hit.

Sorry. Outside of the random bet for fun with a friend or random bet placed if I'm in Vegas, I don't sports gamble.
My buddy is from San Jose and is a big Sharks fan, so I root against him just to give him a hard time. But secretly I like their squad and hope they do well. Shhhhhhhhh.

OKC showed some sand yesterday. They were down quite a bit in the first half, and could have just rolled over to the Spurs (and end up down 3-1). instead, they battled and tied the series. i'm surprised. i thought the Spurs would take the series in 5.

Pens looked great last night. I would say it was one of their better games from start to finish all playoffs. Hopefully they can keep that momentum up.
And is anyone else starting to think that the Cavs have a legit chance against the Warriors (Obviously if the Thunder win, people will think they have a very good chance)? I know they're playing in the supposedly far weaker east. But this team seems to have morphed into a team that can play almost any style of basketball.
