Generic Rubber Mud Flaps

I bought a bunch of mud flaps from advanced auto parts and auto zone to see which ones would fit the best and I ended up settling one these. They are rubber reinforced with fiberglass they are flexible enough not to get ripped off on the trail, but stiff enough to prevent flopping at highway speed.

I do not remember what brand they were but they have a pretty distinct mountain pattern on them.

I mounted the front mud flap higher than the rear because of the shape of the wheel well in order to cover where the tire comes out from the wheel well.

I mounted it using a combination of self-tapping screws (included with the flap) and the screw already in place from the factory to hold the fender flare.

In the rear the wheel well has more coverage so I was able to go further down with the mud flap and still provide adequate coverage for the tire.

These ones were mounted using 4 self-tapping screws each included with the flaps.

In the process of installing these I did not need to drill anything and since the screws are all mounted on plastic pieces I do not have to worry about any premature rust do to the installation.

I think they actually look pretty similar to what comes on the Land Cruiser, and most importantly they really help keep the snow and slush off the truck. Before I would have slush frozen halfway up the door now I only get a little on the bottom of the rocker under the passenger door.
