Get an extended warranty buying pre-owned

Is it possible to buy an extended warranty through Toyota if I bought a 4th Gen through a private seller, or even a non-toyota dealer? I'm looking at an 08 with 32k on the clock, and the warranty is the only thing that is holding me back...

Yea, you can go to the dealership and go that route or you can go through a second-party warranty company. I recommend just paying the extra bucks and going for the Toyota warranty though. I got an extended warranty on my 06 mustang gt (not that the nitrous would have been covered) from my buddy that owns a Ford dealership.

Toyota offers their factory 100k warranty for used vehicles with less than 35k. When I bought my 06 sr5 with 41k, it wasn't offered but when I traded it back in the next day for the LTD with 31k, I was able to get the warranty (another selling point for the trade in!)
