Getting a '19 4Runner TRD Off Road, few questions

Good read on KDSS:

KDSS vs Non-KDSS?

I'm happy with my non-KDSS 4Runner as it is now - lifted.

The on road performance now is apples and oranges better than it was stock. Without the lift (springs, shocks, & struts) - the body roll was absolutely horrible. I was debating taking it a back a week into owning it.

Off Road - well I live off a mile long privately maintained road (2 neighbors and I maintain it). It's dirt, rock, mud, etc. So 2 miles of every trip I go on is rough terrain. I'd say the ride is more firm but not punishing with the lift.

Here's my road when it's dry.

Head unit: lots of better options. Go to Crutchfeild and check out your options. I went Kenwood. By better I mean nav, info like tire pressure, sound, interface, customizing, screen size, resolution, easy upgrades to nav, Apple Car Play, etc etc.

Wheel wobble: I have 5k on my 2019. But AT3W Wildpeaks on day one. Laser balanced (a little better than Road force, but do this at least with AT tires)

Some wobble set in at 3k. Minor and comes and gos. Rotated tires and had them balanced again, no more wobble. AT tires have a lot of rubber, when they wear it is not 100% even, throwing them out of balance creating wobble. Tire pressure is super important on AT tires, wear, cupping, comfort, handling, tire life...

I have a difficult time believing that the steering wheel wobble does not "take away from the enjoyment of the vehicle." Mine wobbles above 60 mph at times. Driving those speeds is not as enjoyable when my hands are shaking. Hard to imagine somebody thinking otherwise. Just my experience, I guess.

I'd test drive over 60 mph on several different roads. The surface seems to matter. Good luck.

My fault. I meant more of a 'does it take away from the experience, it makes you want out of owning one'. Curious, when did your wobble show up?

I have a 2019 TRD Off Road with 650 miles on it. I know what you mean about the touch screen being a little small but I am getting used to it.

On some road surfaces, particularly some where the pavement has ridges from repairs and/or construction is going on, I will get a little vibration in the steering wheel at around 58-59 mph but it goes away as I get to 60 and above. It came with Nitto Terra Grappler tires.

One thing that bugs me is that is has a little bit of a cant or lean towards the drivers side. I notice this when it is parked on a flat surface. I have read on this forum that it is fairly common on these vehicles. I figure it can be adjusted but I'm kind of OCD about stuff like that so it is on the list of things to address.

I forget about all these little things when I am driving as I enjoy it so much. So far, pavement only but eventually I will take it on some trails.

Mine came with Dunlop Grandtrek as stock, and I notice a little wobble every once in a while around 60MPH. It is very infrequent, but if it was more often it would drive me nuts.

Mine has a severe case of the 'lean', and it's been in to the dealer four times (coming up on five). I'm over .5" in the front and almost a full inch (sometimes more) in the rear. I have measured several times in different conditions, and those are the average. It's visible from the rear, so we'll see what they can do about it.

Other than that, I love my old-tech low-tech truck. If they can fix the lean it will be perfect.

i bought my '19 TRD ORP in January; i didnt have any issues with steering wheel wobble or anything. As for the stock Bridgestone Duelers, i took it straight to the mountains and it was snowing with the road covered in a foot of snow and it handled amazingly.

No prob. My steering wheel wobble was noticeable pretty much right away but it’s road dependent, ranging from pretty smooth to pretty annoying. My commute takes me on back roads and keeps me below 60 mph so it works for me. If I commuted on the freeway every day I might feel differently.
