Hey guys, went to get my truck inspected, and i was told that i need my tie-rods replaced.
They are saying they are "loose" when i asked if it was a bushing or something they just replied with "loose" cant have any play...
Soo...
they are saying that while im replacing the upper one (loose one) i should replace the lower also?
They quoted me..
PARTS
TIE ROD END 67.53
TIE ROD END inner 87.75
LABOR
1.2 hours of work 86.40
a shop fee of 4.11 and a haz mat fee of 4.11 (why in gods name is there a haz mat fee??? its not any fluids...)
So overall
159.39 in parts
90.51 in labor
Im getting a second opionion tomorrow morning from my mechanic..but if i decide to go through with doing this...is it a fair price??
Oh..and how much do you guys think would be a fair price (just labor, i already bought the parts) for swaybar bushings to be installed (just the fronts, and the ones on the chassis, not the ones on the ends)?
Thanks for the help guys..
