Getting the stink out...

So last Saturday I took the family and our two dogs to cut our Christmas trees and have a little family fun. Part of our tradition is to meet friends after the cutting of the trees for a couple of drinks and dinner. Which we did, leaving one of our dogs asleep on the back seat while the other was in her crate.

Well, I went back to the car a couple of hours later and quickly realized one of our dogs had puked/crapped (I honestly could not tell which end it came out of) all over the font seats (yes - both of them). I sent my wife and daugher home with our friends and I covered the bottom of the drivers seat with a towel and drive home - with all of the windows down. I then spent 2-hours with a spatula, sponges, 3-rolls of paper towel and a bottle of "Resolve" trying to clean up the mess.

Sunday morning I took my beloved truck in and had the front seats and carpet cleaned professionally. Well, it still smelled bad so I went to a hardware store and got one of those containers of stuff that is supposed to oxidize bacteria based oders. Well, now my truck smells like someone crapped a Christmas tree. HELP! I love my truck and I spend a lot of time in it - but I can't stand it smelling like a mens room at a gas station. UGH!!!!!

You can try Fabreeze, I've heard it works well cleaning up baby puke and fabric seats. The other option would be a professional detailer that has an ozone machine.

Try Nature's Miracle, available at pet stores like Petco. Much better than Fabreeze.

Have it steamed cleaned again from a different company.

I would try simple green. It is highly consentrated so you might want to dilute it a bit.

Drive with all your windows down so it'll air it out. You can always use some Lysol spray on the seats. I sprayed some of my cologne onto the cabin air filter. So everytime i turn my A/C or heater on, it smells gooooood.

pull the seat out, take it to the do it your self car wash and spray it with their pressure washer really good, then vacumn it!

that is, if theirs no electronics in your seat.

yes, take the seats out and extract them again. put them in warm dry area so they can dry out completely. if you have access to an ozone machine you will want to put it in the truck for a couple of hours with the windows up to kill any bacteria. let it air out . change your cabin filter if you have one. and last but not least....dont blame your dogs..LOL
