hey, i know off topic but thanks again for the spoiler on the 3rd gen, looks great!

just got teh 4th gen and would be buying one of these if i had the cash kicking around, lol, shoot me an email if you do another sale/run after Christmas sometime, super interested but my "truck" money has been depleted for a few months after buying a new vehicle. lol... i like working with you and the stuff you put out, please keep making/getting stuff for our 4runner please!

Back to the exhaust, even though the sale ended, I still got somewhat of a extended discount where the systems are only $19 more than they were! So, it's still a deal to jump on this.

REMEMBER, end of December, Gibson is having a price increase for all dealers, so it's never going to be lower than right now.

I’ve been meaning to post on here for a little while. Ended up ordering from Jason, had a few questions for him and he was really responsive to everything.

Pulled the trigger and got the stainless system with the black tip. Love the look of the tip, but my only complaint is that I wish the tailpipe leading up to the tip was black also. After I got it installed I was walking out to the 4Runner from a store and that silver pipe leading to the black tip just stuck out like a sore thumb in my opinion. So I got some high temp black spray paint and got after that tailpipe. It’s not a perfect match for the shade of black, but you’d only notice if you’re up close and examining it, it did the job to blend everything together if your looking at it from a distance or driving by.

As a whole, love the addition and you can’t beat it for the price. Now I’m saving up for some headers for it too, probably end up going through Jason for those as well.
I did take a before and after quick video and I plan on taking another video after about 1000 miles and see if it’s changed at all after “settling in”. I’ll post those after I have all 3.

Thanks for the post. Looking forward to the videos, and maybe one inside! And yea, the only one that gets the full black pipe before the black tips, if you choose that option is the side dual... Since those tips are welded on, they end up doing the whole pipe black. But, your options is a good one.

Now, for those with v8's - - I've sold a slew of the Gibson catbacks for the V8 with and without headers, there are Doug Thorley headers that I sell for the V8 that give 32 HP gain, not sure if you guys know about this? If you have a v8, then you might know how the factory headers crack aroudn 100,000 miles. The Gibson gives double the power with the headers.

I got it installed and it sounds great! Its a little louder then stock, but a nice deep sound and no drone.

Also, if you're looking to do the headers on your V8, I recommend getting them now, even if you don't plan to install for a while. DT has a price increase in a few months and these will be going UP IN PRICE again, but right now the price is NICE.

Installed my Gibson exhaust today.

The Lisle exhaust hanger tool was quite useful.

Found out the light rattle I've been hearing from the center of the cabin was the heat shield. I'll have to fix it or find a replacement.

Side by side with the old Walker Quietflow SS. Made it easy to remove without needing to cut off the OEM setup.

The bends are real nice on the new setup. The other setup had ribbed bends.

The dual side exit looks great. I almost thought I'd want to change it to a single setup, I haven't seen anyone post detailed pictures before. Glad I went with this configuration. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is why it rests on the frame of the truck. Maybe I missed something in the installation process.

After 500 miles the tone has completely changed and mellowed out. On a good note I gained mpg's so far with it. More to come on that

Yes, after the system breaks in, the tone is just perfect if you ask me. Meaning, it's there, but hardly and disappears on the highway completely. I like to say very similar to a Escalade or Denali factory exhaust. This is prob the quietest system you can get, but still sounds great from outside.

Glad you noticed the mileage gains!

Ordered the Gibson catback SS with side exhaust and black tips today. Jason was very helpful in answering my question about possible drone in the cab. Jason assured me there will be no noticeable drone.

Correct. NOW, I want to apologize that these systems are taking LONGER to make than expected. I really appreciate you guys and you patience with this. I thought some of you might start yelling at me as they are taking longer than I was told. I will update this thread again soon with ETA's. I have not forgotten about anyone who ordered and all of you will of course get your systems!

Well, it will get you more miles to a tank of gas, so that's one good thing. I had one guys wife call to order a few days ago and she said, "Why do I need to buy this for my husband, when all it does is make more noise?" Lol, I told her it will help with gas mileage and then she chilled out a little. I'm am curious for you guys testing this out, I'd love to know how many extra miles to a tank highway this gets ya. I'm guessing maybe 25-30 which is cool if it's that.

I just installed mine today, haven't tightened things down yet, but am having the same issue. Going to shift it around a bit tomorrow to see if I can get it set better.

You know I totally forgot there was this issue. I never figured out what to do. I'll be interested if you figure it out. I haven't really noticed personally though.

The wife got me the Gibson exhaust for Christmas, thanks Jason for assisting her with getting everything handled.

I installed it last night, super simple and no issues. I was also concerned with the pipe resting on the rear cross member but after putting my hand between the cross member and pipe and then tightening everything up I have no issues. Sounds great, little louder than I as expecting but I believe I read somewhere they tend to mellow with a few thousand miles on them. :dancin:
