I bought the Go Treads a while back. I haven't had a scenario where I had to use them yet. But they are very compact and seem sturdy. I keep them in my recovery bag.

I have a set of these in my 4 Runner all the time. Due to their size, they are easy to store. I used them once for a friend who slid into a ditch, and they worked OK. Not as good as the full-size Maxtrax as they tended to slide up under the tires when using in the snow. But that being said, they did help as the vehicle would not move before getting the GoTreads into the picture and I would not have had the larger alternative with me. IMO they are an OK as an everyday device to keep in your vehicle, like your small first aid kit or that older tow strap and to have on hand in an emergency but not as a replacement for a true Overlanding recovery platform.
