Maybe I'm just crazy then..............$1299 seems extremely high considering the use/functionality of it (regardless what they add as a bonus). I'm eyeballing Baja Rack's roof rack but if it's that price, I guess I won't be getting on of theirs either.

In addition to IceNomad's excellent breakdown, some other things to consider when shopping: metal is no longer cheap, especially steel, as the exchange rates have begun to work against us here in the US. My rack (granted, it was a custom job) cost $1400 last year and I consider that a good deal for something my wife and I can walk on it and not even flex the expanded metal a smidge. Relatively speaking, this group buy is a great deal if you want a full rack replacement.

51" wide and 83" long the mounting rods underneath the tent would be well inside the the outer edge of the racks dimensions so mounting is a non-issue I believe.

Can anyone at Gobi confirm that the rack will work with my RTT?

P.S. I am 225# most days, and the tent weighs in at around 120#. The load would never be at this level while under way or moving. (Hard to drive and sleep up there simultaneously). Would the load be a problem?

I don't know that anyone from Gobi personally participates on these forums, so you might have to call them directly. The load shouldn't be an issue as the 120 pound limit is dynamic (underway) rather than static (parked).

The prewire is for 2 rear lights. There are 4 light tabs in the front and 2 in the rear. The prewire is ran through the tubing, connecting the front and rear in a clean fashion.
