You can't control the size of attachments, the forum software uses it's own settings. You can resize them in something like Picasa Web and then link to them directly. Firefox has a nice right click menu that allows you to "copy image location" so you can cut and paste into the "Insert Image" pop-up used here.

Are you guys having to pay up front for the total cost of this rack or when shipped?

Just ordered mine, ships in about 3-4 weeks, they said they won't charge the card until 2-3 days before it ships!!

So anyone who is on the fence about ordering, could call and order now, and still have 2-3 weeks or so to figure out the funding.
It looks like a great rack at a great price.

Hi all, I'm planning on getting the gobi stealth rack :jump: but I'm debating whether to have them take out the crossbar towards the rear. It's very unlikely that I'll ever attach any accessories up there, so it seems I'd be giving up some cargo space by keeping that crossbar there. My intended use for it is to carry camping gear.

Did anyone else take it out? Are there any other reasons to have that crossbar there, other than to attach accessories? Anyone have pictures of the rack loaded with stuff (with or without the crossbar)?

Thanks for any input you might have.

I concur with those that have found Gobi responsive.

I sent one email and received a reponse and talked twice with Sandra after leaving a voice mail when their phones were down. Sandra was able to answer my questions.

I ordered the Stealth with ladder and sun roof insert for my 2010 T4R Trail.

I have a big trip (10 days remote - ~1 hour to nearest gas) planned for June 16 that she offered to get my rack for, but I knew it was very unlikely that I would find the time to install it before the trip (I will be lucky to have my gear packed) so I chose to get it at the regular time. I thought it was very nice that they are willing to try to accomodate urgent needs. I would hope that no one abuses this just to get their rack a little before they would otherwise get it.

I'm curious why those of you who choose the stealth went for it over the ranger. I noticed the side height of the stealth is only 3" If you were to carry a bunch of stuff on top, wouldn't you want a higher side? I agree the stealth looks pretty cool though.

I had these reasons but I also figured that I could strap virtually anything to the lower sided roof rack that I could strap to a higher sided roof rack. Therefore I do not believe that I am giving away much in terms of what I can carry on the roof rack (but I did want some sides and not a flat rack that would be necessary for a tent but would be more difficult to anchor things to).

I have ordered my Stealth Gobi but have not received it, but it appears to be an ideal rack for me as I also desired the mesh rather than open cross bars that are the standard for some of the other racks.

Main reason is profile. Side height shouldn't play in to security of gear for travel unless you think it's going to get hit by trees etc.

haha yeah, I was out of the country for a month. Just got back *Saturday night and saw the post. I blew up their voicemail with 2 calls yesterday and 2 this morning. I somehow did not see that at the time. I have seen on the Yota forum an occasional Shrockworks sale (about every 9 months last being early this year). Group buy likely would be better than the Shrockworks occasional sale.
