They're making and shipping 181 racks, and that's just for us. Not counting what they have going on elsewhere. So, maybe they got a little bit over their heads on this one?

btw I'm number 51 and haven't received mine yet.

I totally agree. I knew going into this group buy that there would be a 16 week lead time, probably longer. Is that 16 weeks once you place your order, or once the group buy has ended, I have no idea, but theyre worth the wait.

Very much looking forward to getting mine.

I think it would have been nice for those who ordered through Trail Duty to pay later like those who ordered directly from Gobi. Kind of sucks that we have been charged but have nothing to show for it. oh well...

The delivery truck came today :bravo:

After unpacking the rack and attachments...I gotta say, WOW! I am impressed by the sturdiness, professional finish, and functionality of the Gobi rack. I will taking some time installing it, but assume that it should go off without a hitch. Instructions seem pretty straight forward. Having used a stock Toyota rack and a Baja Rack on my FJ, this is far more substantial with excellent fit-and-finish. It was worth the wait.
 
Received and installed today.. It almost didn't feel real to open the package. As everyone else has said, I am very impressed with the build quality.

I ordered directly from Gobi and they said they wouldn't charge me until they ship the rack, they do have my cc info on hand though.
 
week 18 since the order. No returned phone calls and now I have started to send emails. I know it will show eventually I just don't want to wait a year to get a rack.

I would keep calling. Leave messages and email them. That is what I had to do. I got my invoice from them that was it the last time I heard from gobi. The shipping company called me this morning to schedule the drop off.
 
If anyone's looking for work, Trail Duty would probably hire you on as a phone receptionist, I imagine they have someone calling about order status every 5 minutes. If everyone can remain patient they might be able to get some work done haha.
 
I called again yesterday to confirm an estimated ship date I had received a while back and they are still calling for it to ship next week. We shall see. I will also update either way, just incase anyone is curious.
 
The receptionist told my wife yesterday that she can't get an answer out of the shop about when it will be ready, so she has no idea when it will ship.

**Nevermind** just got a call that it will be shipping Friday 3/31.
