GOBI Stealth Basket Measurement

Hello,

Trying to buy a storage box that will fit on the GOBI stealth...mine has not been delivered yet.

Can anyone tell me the INSIDE WIDTH of the storage basket?

And if you have the INSIDE LENGHT of the basket, that would be appreciated...

I didn't know that the rack tapered to the back....Interesting.

But a 42" box will fit across just fine...

The Plano 42" box has an exterior dimensions of L=46in. x W=16in. x H=5.5in.

The Plano 36 has ext of 40"...I think you sent the right link.

They really don't, even with the foam taken out, but that's why i have 3, since i like the low profile, especially on the highway.

Nope.. I have the box in your link [MENTION=193314]pixjohn[/MENTION] , and it is not the box you want on top of your car going 85 down the road...or 35... Especially if it is raining.

Its listed as Weather-resistant design? I see lots of overland 4runners with that size? If Its strapped down why would it not hold up? I am waiting on a Gobi ranger rack but will use it on a thule rack for now.

[MENTION=193314]pixjohn[/MENTION] The plastic is flimsy. The latches are a JOKE, and there is no seal around the lid. I bought mine for the back so that we don't have things rolling around. That is about all it is good for....

How much stuff are you guys really putting in there? I imagine it is emergency recovery gear...a couple of recovery straps, a hatchet, road flares, a first aid kit, maybe a tool bag...Basically things that you hope you never have to use.

1. some recovery gear - strap, tire kit, tools
2. tarp, moving blanket, rubber mallet, stakes

I have a shower that I made out of PVC...holds 7 gallons of pressurized water. Really nice to take a shower after the fishing, and before the ride home. It's 72" long, so the 36" won't fit width wise.

Inside width of gobi stealth

Can anyone help with some measurements?

-Stealth rack WITH sunroof cutout

-Inside width at the furthest back location?

-Inside width at the back of the sunroof cutout?

-Distance from the furthest back of the inside of the rack to the back of the sunroof cutout

Basically looking for the usable space behind the sunroof cutout without the insert. Wanting to fit my maxtrax sideways right behind the cutout then figure out how much space I have for cases behind the maxtrax so I can buy the right cases and the right number. Currently thinking maxtrax sideways then TWO of the 36 inch (really 40 inches long) plano gun cases sideways as well. That would keep the height down.
