Gobi Stealth: no rise vs standard

Here you go. Mounted up, just needs to be wired (doing that next week). I wanted the bar lower right above the fairing but where it's at is directly in line with the top tube of the no-rise rack so there actually isn't any wind noise at all mounted like this.

Have you tried some weather stripping between the light bar and fairing when it is sitting lower? I heard that reduces the road noise. Thanks for posting the pictures.

With it raised like that and having a visible gap, it almost seems a rise would be a better option for a single or double row light bar. Hard to tell with the pictures. Ultimately, you will have the best assessment. Would you still go no rise if planning a light bar?

Thanks to your comment pushing me over the edge, I'm gonna swap my brackets to some lower profile ones and see how it looks after I lower the light bar as low as I can to just above the fairing.

that gap didn't look "horrible" but I wasn't crazy about it. Looks 10x better now.

I agree! Looks great! Anxious to hear how you take care of the road noise issue. Did you get your brackets from Gobi and what led bar did you go with?

Just finished a freeway test (up to 75mph) and absolutely no wind noise. Even when I open the sunroof shade you can't even hear a faint whistle. Nothing at all. It's an Aurora flood LED 40" 14080 lumen bar. I don't think GOBI sells light bar clamps but if they did they would be $160. For now I jerry-rigged it with u-bolts & rubber lining on all the metal-on-metal parts to fight vibrations. It's just a temporary mounting setup until i figure something else out. Only cost me $9.

I've always wondered how much airflow you get through the sunroof with these racks. Sure we discuss wind noise and options but do you get a decent amount of airflow with the rack installed? By installed I mean with the deflector mounted as well.

So even after I installed my Gobi, I truthfully did not have any noticeable wind noise unless I actually opened the glass sunroof. If I just opened the screen to the sunroof, there is a small bit of wind that I could hear but nothing that anyone riding in the truck would even notice. I'm confident that this is all merely because I have my faring absolutely just perfect on there, so I've marked it all up with exactly where it's at. Now after installing the light bar there is absolutely no change to that. No more, and no noticeable wind noise or whistling or anything

Thanks, now I know what my next mod will be after I get the new skid plates.

Where did you run the light wiring? I can't see it at all in your pics.

that led bar looks perfect mounted low like that. Just cut those u bolts short and i don't see any reason to change how you mounted it:nod:

ha ha that would explain it. I thought maybe he had been visited by Tesla's Spirit who taught how to send power via wireless.

Decided to change my order from a rise to a no rise on my stealth rack. Hopefully I don't get bumped to the bottom of the group buy list and have to wait another 4 months!

I don't want to pay $1100 for a Rigid so was thinking of going with a Black Oak or Bulldog 40" Single Row Combo.

Dude how did you wire your lightbar without drilling/etc? Where does the wire from the light bar go?
