Gobi Stealth: no rise vs standard

Dude how did you wire your lightbar without drilling/etc? Where does the wire from the light bar go?

Not sure how he did it but my wire harness was small. I partially tucked mine under the edge of the windshield trim and ran a bead of black silicone to keep it from moving. You can only see it where it comes from the rack to the rain gutter.

Most run the wire down the driver side front window seal. There is some room to guide the positive and negative wires down and then into the engine bay for power. The switch wire is then run through the firewall grommet into the cabin.

Do anybody have a picture of a "no rise" with lightbar?

And do anybody here ordered Gobi from Canada?

I'm from Manitoba and have ordered one back in December. It's with the "rise" because I wanted a double row LED. I'm currently waiting for mine and I'm having it shipped to Pembina North Dakota. Only an hour away for me to drive over and pick up.

I have a set of wires on each side of the windshield. Laid them as flush as possible, taped/tied at both ends to keep it taught, masked both sides of the A pillar channel, and laid a bead of silicone down against the wires. Ran my finger through it to get it all in there and make sure it was flat, then just peeled the tape up.

One thing I've noticed is that water seems to not really get funneled up over the car as much and leaks all over my side window. It results in a dirty / water spotty window.

I don't see "no-rise" as an option on the Gobi website - I guess you have to just put it in the comments and they'll do it?

Seems slightly more aerodynamic to me for no-rise...

Put it in the comments but also tell the rep when they call to confirm your order.

It's $150 extra, I placed my no rise stealth order about a month ago.

It should also allow you to carry a sheet of plywood on the rack.

If you're getting a light bar, see if they can modify their light mounts to accept a single row LED light bar. When my no-rise was delivered they gave me the same mounts they use for the dual row light bars that are used for the "raised eyebrow" rack.

If they do ship the dual row one, here's a link to my write-up to modify the mounts to accept a single row that dosen't stick up above the top bar so you can still put your paddle board or 4x8 plywood flat.

People with a stealth gobi rack.. what's the depth of the rack? Looking for the height from the mesh bottom to the top of the upper bar.

Order submitted for a no rise. Thanks for the info guys. The main reason was to try and keep the height down. I will probably buy a canoe or paddleboards too but I wasn't too worried about transporting those. I do like the look of the no rise. The wait begins. The confirmation stated 12-16 weeks. After searching the forums it seems 20 weeks is a more realistic time. We shall see.

I went no rise as I dont plan on a dual row light up there and with no light the rise seems awkward. I ordered 10/17 and it arrived 3/5. Sitting in the box waiting to go on once I get a second set of hands.

Agreed. I've got no regrets going with the no-rise, and it can still support single row lights if you really want them. I personally don't see the need for insane lights and the roof lights just seem good for hood glare.

I wonder why Gobi keeps things "as is"? It's crazy to place an order and wait 20 weeks for delivery. You have insane demand and your product, and are potentially losing customers with this lead time. Jump on production, and get this down to 6 weeks! That said, I guess good things come to those who wait. The low rise is absolutely beautiful and looks awesome on our trucks.

Yeah it’s not advertised. It also costs $200 more I believe. I didn’t opt for it myself, it’s expensive as it is...

I placed an order today for the "no-rise" option. It was $150 more.

Like mantis said, just call them or send them an email to change your order. They'll bend over backwards to tack more money on.
