Gobi Stealth Roof Rack!! Finally completed

Ever since i saw another members build, i was in love with the Gobi Rack. I just had no idea it would take sooo long to get it. FYI- ordered on Feb-15th. Complete as of today. Pics speak for themselves, you guys let me know what u think?

Looks good. I really like the laces out look of the KO2s. Guess I'm old school like that. It looks good with the black rims and white vehicle.

I love how everything looks, do you have to drill anything to install the gobi rack? Also, how are the new tires better than the stock TRD Pro tires?

No drilling, the directions are horrible to start with, even the print looks like something straight out of the 80"s. Pictures, forget about that, i guess for $1,600.00 nice directions is too much to ask for? I was upset the didnt pre wire the rack for my $1,100.00 light bar that they knew why i was buying it and where i was putting it. After all it is a made to order fully customizable part. I could go on and on but you will find out on your own. Another issue i see is how am i going to clean and wX the roof of the truck, i guess ill have to buy a pole with a thin brush to clean. Also this thing is 70lbs and you do and will feel the extra weight up above!! It will be a good 8-10hr install doing it the right way like i did!! Feel free to ask me anything about install. Paul at Gobi will e-mail you a wiring diagram to help. I took a different path in the engine compartment!!

Thats Hot. Like the rack but for $200 worth of parts . ouch they make their money , thats for sure.... I run the BF Goodrich ta/ko2 but I turned them so the black wall is out

Another member got himself a swifter to clean and "wax" the roof under the rack.

Just the rack was 2hrs, its the wiring that is a. Pain in the Ass.

The racks come prewired from Gobi with dual wires running down each side in the bottom tube. There are really 3 main options for getting the wires back to the Engine bay. While I am not the OP I assume what he meant by doing it right was either the entire wiring set up OR he replaced the Gobi wiring with a heavy gauge, I did this because I was running through the back and prefer to be on the "safe" side of electrical things. That being said if you are only running LED lights I would not think its mandatory to upsize the wiring and will vouch that its a PITA but doesn't take more then 30min. *Always know you max load, wiring runs and use a wire gauge table to determine what gauge you need

#1 Run down the front windshield molding, some do 2 wires per side others only fit 1 per side in. Personally I tried this and was not happy with the way the weather stripping fit with the wires in so I moved on to option #2

#2 Run the wires through the back hatch and back to the firewall/engine bay along the door sills. The downside is obviously the extra wire run

#3 Say F*it and drill a hole in the roof and use a marine grade grommet set up to keep it weather proof

Sorry to bump such an old thread - but what size are the tires, and any kind of spacers or leveling kit up front? Truck looks bad ass!
