Going for a 1in front level + tires!

Well, it's gotten to the point where I cant hold myself back anymore and I've got the lifting/bigger tires bug.:reddance:
What I am going to do at this point is put a 1/2" cornfed spacer in the front and at the same time upsize to 265/65/18 bfg all-terrains. Should I have any issues with rubbing or anything else to watch for after I do this? I think everything should fit with possibly some fender liner rubbing at the most. Just want any opinions from people who have done this to their trucks and how it turned out. If I had it my way I would get a set of 2/1 spacers, but with my dad paying for insurance and part of my gas money I don't think he'll let that happen haha. But then again I haven't asked him. At first he was really against me getting a lift and now he's likely letting me do the leveling kit with tires...I think he kind of caught the bug too when seeing me start to do small little stuff with my 4runner.

Does your dad know he will be spending more on gas for your truck once he buys you your leveling kit plus larger and heavier tires?

IMHO be respectful of your dad and don't expect him to pay for the extra gas. I would suggest keeping the truck stock until you can afford the upgrades. Plus once you start changing stuff other things will go wrong.

Yes he is aware, he actually helps me out with gas money when I come over and do work for him, etc. I pay mostly for it on my own, probably 70% of it. I definitely don't expect him to pay for the extra. I am about due for new tires anyway so its not like he's throwing the money away and I would be paying for the spacers out of my own pocket. He actually seems to enjoy helping me with this and if he did not want me to do this he wouldn't let me. Sorry if I came off as disrespectful of him, or giving the impression that my dad pays for everything. I pay for all my maintenence and most of my gas, he pays for some of the gas and my insurance. I save up money working in the summer for the rest of the year while I'm in school, untill the next summer. I've just been around bikes and trucks most of my life and really enjoy this type of stuff. I realize I will probably be dropping atleast one mpg if not more but I try to drive like a grandpa anyways so hopefully it will make as minimal of an mpg dent as possible.

I really don't think ur ganna have any rubbing issues at all to be honest. I have 265/70/17 on mine and the only rubbing I get is when I'm in reverse and I turn the wheel. The inner part of my tire rubs a bit with the fender liner. That's all. So you'll be fine with a 1/2" spacer. I'm going with a 3" toytec spacer this week.

Honestly don't waste time with the 1 inch leveling kit. Go with the 2 / 1 kit, spidertrax spacers and the tires you had in mind. In my opinion just a 1 inch kit is not worth the money. Plus the gas mileage will be the same just look better.

Agreed. Instead, you should buy my 2.5" front daystar spacer that I'm pulling a week from tomorrow.

Then buy some 2" spacers for the rear and call it a day

Maybe, it's tempting haha. I think I want to go for the 2-1 cornfed instead of the 1" level though, if possible. Dont want to go too much taller than 2" in the front since long term I want to get fj springs and bilsteins set up at around 3", uca's, spidertrax, 275/65's, possible diff drop.

2.5 isn't much taller. And it's cheaper :becky: :behindsofa:

I have been very happy with the DS setup and I think it gives the 4r the perfect stance with the 1.5 spacer in the rear and the 2.5 front. I just want more lift so I'm getting 3" billies/eibachs front and keeping my rear spacer with FJ springs.

ETA burtman charges 264 for the 2/1 cornfed lift. That's insane. You can do a daystar kit brand new for 160ish or piece it together with mine for around 115. (40 for the rear 1.5" spacers and 75 for my front 2.5"
