Going from 2020 to 2021...

I was previously leasing an '18 limited, and I have upgraded to a '21 limited nightshade. I had almost 2K *in equity* from the '18 to roll into my new vehicle. carplay, remote start/connected services, LED headlights, radar cruise, upgraded infotainment/audio. quite a few small, notable upgrades that all make me pretty happy about my upgrade. I loved my '18 though. if you dont love your 20, youre likely not going to love a '21.
 
As of now I’m not trading my 2020 AG pro for a 21 since my pro is paid for. If I do trade it would probably be on a tundra Pro. And I don’t even know if I would trade. I would see what I could get privately.
 
i'm happy with my 2020 sr5. the one i like most is the toyota safety sense. had a road trip and the adaptive cruise control was awesome. :)

I just watched a video on the 2021 features and wasn’t really impressed. However I do know the fox shocks were improved, apparently.

i think the 2019 and below 4runners should be traded in with the 2020 and above. lol!

Not everything I post will be me wanting to do it. It’s more out of curiosity.

Some people on this forum seem to think when you buy something you should leave it stock. Don’t change anything.

Makes me wonder the last time they changed their windshield wipers.

On the 21 models can you turn off safety sense and lane assist? And will it stay off when you turn the car back on?

you can turn off the lane departure alert if you feel really awake while driving. but the safety sense with pre-collision system, you can't. it works at 7mph or higher. below that, you still have to do the braking. the lane departure alert keeps the setting when you turn off the car and back on.

Every time I have a thought I don't speak it to existence. If I did, I would have had my ass kicked a lot more times in my life.

I think people's frustration is that a lot of what you post probably belongs in the general discussion forum. Yes, you're talking about a 5th Gen, but this one is an eye roller.

And if you're going through this forum and getting the impression people leave their rigs stock, you're not looking at the right posts...

2020 to 2021 isn't an upgrade as much as a lateral, with transaction costs. If you're not happy with options, color, package, etc, then it may be worth it. Only you can decide for yourself. I buy vehicles and hold them for 20+ years, and give odd looks to friends who seem to trade for a new car every couple years.
