First off, grammar and punctuation is a plus. :D

There's no specific difference, you could order gold emblems from the factory as an option on any 4Runner. You could have also ordered Black Pearl.

So... no, there's no difference.

IMO the gold crap the Japanese love to optionally adorn certain vehicles with looks cheap and facetious.

You don't see a German car with the gold adornment do you? No, you don't.

I guess it's a taste thing but if I want bling on my vehicles I'll put on a set of 20" gold wheels and get a hat with a feather in it.

Beyond the fact that the "gold" plastiplate costs the same to do as any other color yet it's an "cost additional option". It's sort of like putting a lot of gold jewelry on Rosie O'Donnell. She may have a lot of gold on, but she's still Rosie O'Donnell. ;-)

Couldn't have said it any better.

:hatsoff:

Gold emblems were a factory accessory not installed in Japan. They are 14k gold plated if my memory serves me right. The reason the cars are more loaded with them is that the option cost 695 dollars.

Well there getting ready to be blacked out i cannot stand the gold emblems makes my 4runner look like a rich kid that his parents paid for everything on it

no difference like others said, my 99 had the gold package so I removed what I could, and painted them black pearl. My 04 has the chrome, same thing, removed them, and just left them off, lol

to me the gold emblems look like those cheap sparkle things that little kids put on their phones and belts and stuff...

and I cant stand real yellow gold either, even my wedding ring is white gold.

I have yet to find a car that can pull of gold badges.

Burt might disagree..

:lmao:

funny thing is that some people actually believed it for a little

The emblems on my 97 4runner are 24 karat gold plated. They are not solid gold or anything like that. I just wanted everyone to know that it is not some type of paint. We received a care package with the 4runner with some cleaner for them and a warranty card for 3 years.

Really? Wow, I still have my old "Mr T.'s" but they didn't look like real gold plating to me. I guess I'll have to look at them again. Does the warranty say that?

They are 24k plated gold emblems, still have my original window sticker I'll post pics of it up later. It was a 700 something-ish option as well.
