I don't think it's $1000 to scrap a cat... best I've heard is $160 or so. If scrap rates were $1000, toyota would charge $10,000 for replacements (buying one now is about $1000).

Either way, it sucks.




Are you saying you cut the just the CC off of the Taco piping and welded it into your 4Runner's piping?

Yes it is a direct fit (1st gen taco)
And in Houston they get about $80 a cat. 100 tops
 
I just called one scrap yard and they are paying a whopping $30! Petty crime amounts to huge pain in the vehicle owner's ***

I was talking about on the streets lol.

It the same with the copper a/c lines off home a/c units.
