Good Value Winch

I hunt, so at times I may need to pull tree stumps, or myself out of bad conditions. However, there has only really been one time where I thought "OMG I need a winch" in three years. So I'm looking for a good winch for my ARB bumper. I am not buying a Warn so don't even throw that out there. For something I may use 3 times in 10 years I won't spend a grand.

Some I am looking at include:

Smittybilt XRC 9500
Engo E-9000
CSI W8500

All of these are around $300 new with included steel cable. Maybe one day I'll put synthetic line in. But for now, steel's OK

thoughts?

I went with smittybilt x2o. Better warranty and waterproof.

All I did before using the winch. Was take out the original grease. And put quality synthetic grease. Free spool like butter. Even in cold weather. Used it 3 times so far so good.

ah the X20, the newer one.

I also mentioned to add the Superwinch Tigershark on my list. Synethic line and 9500 lb rating. Seems people like that brand. I can't find much love for SB other than Jeep people

another thing to note is they tested Superwinch's better model, not the LP or Tigershark which are under $400. But either way I've seen tons of great reviews on Superwinch. Not much on Engo, but I did see the review as well.

I have this. Superwinch 1595200: Tiger Shark 9500 12V Series Winch | JEGS

I love it. Many pulls. Many winters and weather. No issues. $350

Awesome, thanks for the advice! Did you just bolt the Superwinch right on or did you require accessories or spacers?

But what I like about the smittybilt x2o is that it has lifetime warranty on gears and 5 year on electrical.

both the Superwinch Tigershark 9500 and Smittybilt X20 10k are priced well. SW is 330 and the SB is 400 on Amazon. Both are around 90 lbs. Hmmmm...

I bought an ENGO 1200 for $380 delivered. Didn't see a lot of negatives in my research. Saw a lot more positive and the price was great for a winch I will use maybe 5 times a year to pull me out of being stuck. If you want a 9K sells for 290.

Yeah I was looking at the Engo SR9 now (looks like newer 9k model than the E9000)

I emailed customer service at Engo, Superwinch, and Smittybilt to gather their "selling point" about these three winches. I want to see how they respond.
