Good year Duratrac Tire Question?

Hey all, looking at upgrading from a fairly worn set of General Grabber AT2 in 265/70/16 to some Duratracs in 265/75/16.

I am only seeing the OWL(Outlined white letter) sideway for the C rated. Are these directional tires? Could I just have them flipped around and have the OWl on the inside?

Here is how she sits now. Have a set of 5 stars I plan to mount them on.

Yes, I went from E to C in that size. They ride way nicer than the Es ever did. I can't really say as far as how they wear since I only ever drive maybe 5k a year, so I replace because of age rather than tread. The E loads I replaced still had 10/32nds after 15k miles.

They should wear fine on something as light as a 4runner. I had the E rated ones on my dually and since I couldn't rotate them they burned up pretty fast, maybe 20k. My friend had them on his 3/4 ton Chevy and he got close to 50k out of them I think. I would think on 4runner they would go farther than that. The key is rotating them. They will make noise as they wear down.

I've posted a lot about my current Duratrac's so if you want me to go into detail let me know. But yes they are not directional as I have Black out on my current ones. My tires are slightly larger 285's, but if your doing pure street and almost zero off road I would recommend them. I'm approaching close to 40K on the tires and very impressed with the wear, but HATE them for anything but road. They don't work for what I do with the vehicle so hoping to switch to KM2's I think, still on the fence.

C's here with lettering inside. They are pretty good (did manage one instant flat out on super rocky terrain), but your truck will feel much different with them on, heavier and a distinct steering stiffness compared to most other tires, i guess because of their 'blocky' footprint?. Acceleration seems to have been affected also.

They will make noise you can hear with windows up/radio off starting at about 30mph yet seems to quite down at about higher highway speeds above 65. I've had them 10k, practically zero wear, even. Luck and enjoy. :cowboy:

[MENTION=75316]jgue467[/MENTION] - One of my MANY reasons I hate my Duratrac for ANYTHING non paved The only saving grace of why I didn't change earlier was the Discount Tire Replacement. I'm money ahead on the tires.

I did some internet research a while ago and apparently BF G switched to a different rubber or something and the KM2's wear really fast now compared to the old AT TA's, according to the many recent reviews I read. It seems the Falkens are the best for the knobby off road tires I think, they get consistently good reviews. Right now I have the Michelin LTX which are worn and will need replacement but I really like them for highway driving.

Interesting. The limited miles on a tire doesn't affect me as mine is seeing more and more non paved surfaces and I don't see that changing. But I will make a closer look, my other tires is the STT PRO M/T, Wrangler MTR w/ Kevlar.

But thank you for the insight on the KM2's I'll try to talk to some 'real' person testing.

Sorry, I'm late to this party.I have LT28570R17 Load Range D. and so far so good.. They're pretty quiet. I'm told as they wear they start to sing a little bit. I'm not looking forward to that but I'm very happy with them. I've never been off road with them but i can tell you that they work well in snow.
