I traded the 4Runner last week. I had to say that after owning 2 4Runners, I will definitely miss him. Hopefully as I evolve in life and have a family with kids, or live somewhere I actually need an SUV, I will be buying another one.

Traded it in with 151,000 miles. bought it on August 21, 2004. So I was doing 30,000 to 40,000 miles a year.

Here is a picture of the old boy...

I stripped everything I could off of it before I traded it, knowing they wouldn't give anything for them.

The M45

I ended up buying the car I really wanted. A 2006 Infiniti M45. Here is pictures before I start the mods.

It only had 27,000 miles on it, and it was kept in mint condition.

I got em' in blue in rememberance of the 4Runner.

I'll keep this until it's time to expand back into an SUV.

Until then, I will still hope to contribute to T4R.

I had a few problems with the rims.

One, is that I sold my factory rims to a friend of mine. So I couldn't swap them out.

I was running 32" trires on the rims, since I had the lift kit on there. I couldn't find anybody to swap with since no one I knew had a lift either.

So I was stuck trading them in with the truck.

It sucks, I know.

Good luck with your M45, they look like very nice cars although I confess I don't know much about them. You've been a long time member here so it's sad to see you go but of course you're always welcome to stop in and contribute.

BTW, in looking at the high mileage 4th gen thread I believe you probably set the high bar with your 151K miles ( http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=37419 ), not bad for 4 years :D

I can't belive you are right down the street.

Do you live in Mira Lago?

I talked to a few people about the rims before I did it, but the problem was that the tires were 32" tires. So it wouldn't be a direct swap. You'd need a 3/2 lift kit and most people wouldn't did want to do the lift for warraty or various reasons.

I still have the exhaust. In excellent condition.

Alot of people have asked for it, but shipping cost have killed it.

I'm pretty upset now. What can you do..., you know.

I can hold the exhasut for you. If you need help installing it, your welcome to come over. It pretty easy. Just bolts right on.
 
Good choice on the M45. I sell Infiniti parts for a living and when taken care of they are very nice cars. What are you planning mod wise?
 
So far, I just added the OEM areo kit, swapped out the sport 19" gun metal wheels, for the chrome 19" sports, and had it tinted.

I'm doing the DVD hack this weekend.

Down the road, I'll add an exhauast and an intake.

The car really doesn't much to make it look good.

As soon as we have a dry day here, I'll wash it and take better pictures.

Sounds good just make sure you use a factory air filter in that car or an oiled aftermarket one. The filters from the factory are oiled to protect the mass air flow sensor and paper dry filters will cause it to fail over time. Trust me, I see it all the time at the dealership I work at.
 
Sad to see your 4runner go.. on the bright side though that's a nice looking M you got there, always loved those cars.. i drive a G35 right now and hopefully sometime in the future i get to drive an M, specially now that they have the HR motor on the newer ones... congrats and GL!

Yeah I just did my 30 k service, kept the factory filter. I would do an exhaust before consider changing the factory filter for now.

I'd sure like to do something different with OEM exhaust tips. They don't seem to hold up, or they were not really be well taken care of. Maybe it's that the car came from NH and and they deal with snow and salt.
 
where did you get that V6 emblem? that's kinda cool

The V6 emblem on the back came from a 2004 Toyota Highlander. The VVT-i emblem is form eBay, and the V6 emblem on the front grill should be from 2001 4runner.

Is the dual Borla exhaust still up for sale?

It's still available but I believe Wingman is buying it soon.

That may be the issue. We very rarely have any issues with the tips here, but we are way down here in Georgia lol :biggrin2:
