I have Goodyear Fortera HLs in the stock size. I just bought the truck last month and have done a couple thousand miles, mostly highway. I have to say I am very impressed with the on-road performance of the Forteras. I was considering ditching them for an AT style tire for my purposes, but decided to try them out.
Here in Denver we are having an extended single digit/below zero F* spell. I've driven them on ice, packed snow, snow on top of ice, and unplowed snowy roads with great results. They seem to stick pretty well, even at this temperature, and clear themselves easily. I am used to Cooper, BigO or General brand AT style tires on lighter weight 4x4s (1985 & 1986 Toyota Pickups). ATs are better in off road situations I'm sure, but anyone looking for a on-road, foul weather tire should check these out.
Tire noise is extremely low as well.
