Hey fellas! I'm new to the forum but know I will be very active on it. Just got a 1985 4runner. I always wanted the first gen for a long time, so glad I found one less than two hours away. Has a 5" lift on 35's. Needs some TLC which is what I've been giving it the past several weeks. Going to get new axel seals, transfer case seal, universal joints, new quarter panels/fiberglass fenders (Can't decide which route to take yet), 5.29 gears, and probably redo the interior to have as much diamondplate as possible...really excited to get this in the woods!

I am not sure if I should go with getting fiberglass fender panels from toyotafiberglass.com and do the entire panel with the freedom of not worrying about rust, or just get a patch kit to spot weld in place of the previously rusted fender. My plan is to paint this glossy black and make it look like it was driven off the lot in 1985.

I don't plan on going with bigger tires than what's on it now. Does anybody with 35s have rubbing issues in the rear? If so, it's probably better to just cut the fender rather than go with fiberglass.
