got a new T4R rear lift-gate

I need help guys, I got a new (used) rear lift gate and installed it and now my alarm does not work...it does a long beep like a door is open...but thr rear is shut tight cause the dash light is not on, what is wrong and what needs to be done? Any help and advise is appreciated, thank you guys in advance....

I am not 100% sure, but I think the "brain" for the alarm system is inside the tailgate. pop the big plastic cover off and you'll see. Compare the orange/black box you find inside your old tailgate to the new one and I bet they are different. You may need to switch out the entire wiring harness to make it work......

Don't think you'd have to switch out the harness. Just change the computers. Should be pretty easy.

Just because the light is on, doesn't
Mean the door is actually closed though. Check everything all over again, and double check that. Them go from there.

I've had this same problem for a few months, only the dash light has been on the whole time and it is my original tailgate.

it would "slam" off the locking mechanism so i had to use wd-40 and a screwdriver to unfreeze it. Fixed it, broke again the next day, fixed it again and havent opened it since. The light is on so I can't lock it with wirelessly but I can just use the door panel controls.

It's annoying but i've lived with it for about 5 months, I just use the window whenever I need to get anything from the trunk.
