GOT CORN? Yet Another Cornfed Lift Post

This is my 1st of many more mods to go. Yes, Im addicted. Anyway - Cornfed 3/2 spacer lift kit installed. This is the way it should look rolling off the assembly line. Rides great, drives great, looks great, love it. My next fix will of course be bigger tires.

How's the ride compared to before you added the lift? Do you notice the change in center of gravity (i.e. more tippy)?

At first I noticed it seemed to be a little "top heavy" when I jerked the wheel back and forth when I got it back after the install - but only then just because I was trying to see if there was a difference. But since one does not normally drive like that then NO, you really don't notice it during everyday driving. The rear has less bounce than before and I like that. Its a bit stiffer and IMO it needed to be. My only complaint is when I hit a dip at an angle and the rear tires are off centered it really SLAMS down on the suspension. At times it seems like there is no suspension in the back at all. And really thats minor and may only just bother me. I def wouldn't go back to the way it was before the lift. I love it. But I prob will get a "real" suspension put on the rear at a later date rather than just the spacer leveling kit. Getcha one!

Thats one sweet rig, I'm curious though, what are you guys with tires larger than 265/70 R17 doing for your spares?!?! Is it due to the fact it's still a 70 series tire the diameter isn't changing, so it's not a problem with mis-matching diameter sized tires on a drive axle? What about having a spare that's narrower than the other 3 and the handling problems that will ensue...just a couple of questions I've been pondering.

A 265/70 R17 tire will fit in the spare tire carrier. I ought a used tire for the spare when I got my new set. The size is an issue, esp w/ 4wds

Brett, if we ever have a DFW meet, I need to see your rig. I think it looks great and want to see what that lift looks like in person. I'm thinking of doing that same lift as well, since ours looks a little low for a 4Runner. Think a better stance would help it some. I like my street trucks lowered, and my SUV's/ offroaders lifted lol. Though mine's a 2WD and will never go off road really LOL. Still would give it a more agressive off-road type stance!

Anyway, looks GREAT.

These tires are to rugged I dont see ever having to use the spare! But if I did it would just be to get me to the tire shop so I'm not too worried about it...
