:hello:..SHORT NOTICE..LAST MOMENT..NIGHT RUN TONIGHT….San Diego Coral Canyon Sept 10, 2011

Meet Up Location and Time:

Saturday Night, Sept 10, 2011
Los Coches McDonald's in El Cajon (Los Coches McDonald's - Los Coches McDonald's) at 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm. There is a Shell gas station here to fuel up. Leave McDonalds at 6:30 and head to 4 Corners Coral Canyon.

Trail Rating: Easy to Moderate :welcome:

While more challenging than the "Easy" rated trails, drivers of all skill levels can enjoy the trails of Gunslinger (11) and Bronco Flat's (5). At this level a stock high clearance four wheel drive vehicle is required. Trails are typically narrow with possible brush that may scratch your vehicle.

Trail run will start at west side of Gunslinger (11) to Bronco Flat’s (5)

If this was 2 weeks from now, I'd say yes. I will have my lift and sliders on by then.

Last time I went, I remember using my sliders quite a few times. That was about 4 years ago though. I remember Gunslinger because it was fairly straightforward.

Bronco flats is at the end of Gunslinger right? Its not flat at all, and you're actually going downhill, right?

Yes, Bronco Flat's is at the end of Gunslinger. And yes going down Bronco Flat's. I ran the same trails two weeks ago with a bone stock 2010 Taco 4x4.

night run follow up

Coral Canyon night run was a good trail run for all :cheers:
Several drivers brought the family, including the family pets, which was entertaining; there was a lot of rabbit chasing going on at the stop points. With 50% of the rigs responding to Got Lights? having lights, there was more than enough light for this trailride. The trail at many points looked liked a giant centipede wandering through the bushes. One rig had the Vision X Tantrum rockcrawler light set up. It looked as if a giant Tarantula kept following me :spider:.

After leaving McDee's at 6:35 pm (hoping for a last minute TR4.org member) we arrived at Coral Canyon 4 Corners at 7:15 pm. After staging the vehicles we hit the west side of Gunslinger at 7:45 pm. The trail ride ended at 9:30 pm at the end of Bronco Flats and we headed back to 4 Corners where we aired up and called it a night.

Due to some recent trail maintaining activity and overzealous gardening shears (I'll bet gas operated) from one of the local 4x4 clubs, minor bush scratching was kept to a minimum. The only carnage :lookout: was rocker panel and rear 1/4 panel dings (which matched the many other dings through out the body) on a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 4x4, yea, read right, 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 4x4 with BFG A/T's.

The McDee's meet up time produced an interesting spread of entries :bluejump:. Other than the original 4 entries, the word must have spread that a family 4x4 night out on the trail would be fun, 4x4 or not -

Unfortunately, due to unforseen events at McDee's meet up (another driver opened the passenger door and things fell. The Monster energy drink seemed more important than the camera. The camera suffered broken everything), sooooo no photo's at this time. :bash:
