Got my new wheels and tires installed (lots of pics)

So after much debating and thinking, I finally got my new tires and slapped some new wheels on there for good measure. It turned out better than I dreamed it would.:reddance::banana:

For the tires, I chose the Yokohama Geolanders All-Terrains in a 275/70/16. I went with the 275s because that's what was already on there and I like the width of them. They are very nearly the diameter of the 265/75/16s, only very slightly smaller.

For the wheels, I went with the Cragar Soft 8s. The specs (it took me forever searching around to find the exact specs I needed) : 16x7. 6x5.5 bolt pattern. 4 in backspacing (about 3/4in less than stock, pushes the tire out to about in line with the flare). I had to buy new lugs because the OEM ones were too long and too big and didn't mount correctly, so I went to Discount Tire and got some. $1 a piece.

Steel doesn't like to be balanced haha...theres alot of weight in there and I'm glad they used tape weights instead of lip weights

Thanks...and I would recommend them, they ride and are about as quiet as my old Michelin all seasons.

It's alot of weights...but they're balanced...very smooth on the highway.

My soft 8's didn't take much weight at all and they're perfectly balanced. The nice thing about steel wheels (especially with mud tires) is that they are f'ing heavy.....so they drive smoother and don't shake around with road irregularity's as much as lighter wheels would.

Thanks! And I've got a Nikon D60 with a 55-200 lens on it right now. Love it but I'm thinking about selling it...I just don't use it enough...

You'll really like those tires. I've got a set on my '97... they're quiet, they've got a comfortable ride, they're affordable, and they last forever. I've been a bit of a slacker when it comes to rotations and I've still gotten 40000 miles out of mine with miles to go.

The setup looks great man. Good choice.
