Got P0500 speed sensor code from cel

Like a lot of otheres I got a cel light along with all the vsc lights. The diagnostic tool told me it is a P0500 speed sensor. We're pretty sure that's an engine code. I've got 47k miles on my 07 SE V8 so I'm taking it to the dealership to see what the problem is and hope it's under warranty.
Not sure if it's a coincident or not but the lights came on the same day I installed an in dash nav AVN6620. I don't know how the install could have caused this since everything is just unplugged and plugged back in but anything is possible.
To be safe I'm pulling the nav out and putting the stock unit back in before it goes to the dealer, I don't want to hear any bs about my install causing it and now it's not warrantied. I will post a follow up after my dealer visit.
Anyone have anything similar happen?

Did your AVN6620 require tapping into the VSS wire for nav to function?

But good idea to return it back to stock and let them figure it out.

No I didn't hook the speed sensor up but now that I think about it the stock unit had two slots to plug in what looks like antenna wires but the Eclipse only has one. I plugged in the one that works the sirius and left the other one hanging. I'm going to plug it back in stock and see if that clears the code.

I don't think that should be the problem. The 4Runner has diversity antenna, thus the two plugs. Some people use a Y-adapter, while others just opt to plug one in.

Upon further research it's looking like the 07 has a speed sensor in the harness from the steering wheel that auto adjusts the sound. The eclipse unit doesn't have that so the computer is reading an error when it's not hooked up. I guess a lot of guys are cutting that wire, I just need to find out which wire it is. If anyone knows I'd appreciate the info.
Thanks for the info on the diversity antenna.

Same thing happened to me after my stereo install. I'm hoping it was just a problem with my wiring somewhere. For now I unplugged my VSS (SPD on 4Runner EWD). What was your fix??
