got tires..now want a small lift...

UPDATED WITH PICS!!! just got my new tires put on which are 31x10.5 on 15x8 rims. don't have the pics up yet but will shortly. have a 97 2wd runner and am wanting a small lift to add a little bit of agressiveness and better look to our 4runner. not offroading this as its our daily driver. going for cosmetics. what would be better? daystar 2.5" lift kit or lets say a 2" bodylift? what would be better for daily driving on streets. wife will be mostly be driving this with our 3 kids in the car. any help would be great, thanks

Rims are old school Boyds bought like 8 years ago and just sitting in my garage cause I had nothing to put them on at the time. Now was the time. I think they look great.

Looks good! I like the wheels. If its going to be a DD for your wife and kids, I would just do a 1"-1.5" bl. I think 2" would be to much. Yoou could also just put on some 99' springs and probably gain the same a s the BL

agreed. especially if the current suspension is original

how much do you want to spend? Sonoran Steel has the System 3.0 which consists of 99 tall coils and new shocks and hardware. its around $600 though which is kinda spendy but you get all new factory suspension and his website says that a 2wd will get about 2 5/8" of lift. you could also try to find some used 99 springs and get some cheaper shocks or use your current ones.

i'm looking to sell my '99 springs here in the next month but from seeing that you have rocks in the yard instead of grass your prolly to far south, lol.....

i wouldn't go to big if your looking just for cosmetics i think 1 -1.5 inches would be the money spot for the wheels to fill up the wheel well and leave a bit of space for a little flex, and if your wife doesn't like the tippy feel of a slightly higher CG just add some sway bars.

Here is my 02 runner with the Daystar 2.5" on the front, and the OME 891 coils on the back, which is also about 2.5". I do some offroading though, so if you are limiting it to a DD and just want a more aggressive profile and look, I would do 1.5 - 2.0" on the suspension. If you go that much on the body lift, it will entail adjusting your radiator, steering, transmission linkage, bumper, etc... You can get a Daystar 2.5" lift (spacers) for under $200.

yea i was leaning towards the daystar 2.5" lift. i can find it online for pretty cheap too. and i didn't want to have to get new shocks either. you guys think the daystar 2.5" lift will ride close to stock. im ok with little change but if its going to suck then i might rethink it. hows your ride manhunter?

only go with front spacers, though...put lift coils in the back over spacers or you will expedite the inevitable rear sag

ill definitely do the front spacers but i mean how long before the rear before the sag might start. would it really sag bad if i only drive on the streets?

it's hard to give a timeframe...but it's inevitable on our trucks completely stock...then you compress the springs that much with spacers, it just accelerates it
