GottabeTRD's Build Thread

Pfftt, and you had doubts you could do that mod..

That is no longer an excuse for anything from you, ever! Looks like a pro did that work.

I liked the black front guard on your ride, but I LOVE this setup. Looks so good. Always love to see work that stands out, but at the same time looks like it could have been a factory option. I know that's always your goal. You hit it right on.

do it taylor!! I would love to see others do this!

thanks Ripcord, I watch these freaking shows like Street Customs or Overhaulin and then get these crazy ideas in my head. It ends up becoming an obsessions to where its only thing i can think about until it gets done. I look forward to seeing you do it too man!

on a side note im gonna be buying a new camera this week so I'm gonna be going crazy with the pics and the editing and oh man its gonna mess up my grades this semester lol

wow thanks Hepar! That's what i was trying to go for. I love the Ivan Stewart grill so i tried to go with this route somewhat, after i lift it im gonna prob sell this grill and do the Satoshi with this material. It's perfect for that

Awesome Runner!

Question for you -

How do you actually mount the new grill together? Do you use some kind of glue? I understand you got the sheet from ebay and then cut it but how do you piece it together?

I think you've started something here man. The updated shots definitely show off the work better than the first pictures you had up. Once again, that's some fine work you've done there.

thanks man, I tried a few different things to get it to stay

For the valence... Im kind of hesitant to say how i did it cause I like a quality job but i just used zip ties. The design of the grill has these spots in the middle that hide the tie pretty good. But yeah i tried to think of anything else but this area was kind of hard to work with.

the grill on the other hand was different, I still used zip ties but on some parts i used those little plastic punch screws too. I drilled a hole in the mesh and the grill and connected it with them. I also used some Epoxy to make it more solid.

BTW get the zip ties from Walmart, I used some from a couple different auto parts store and they kept on braking. Walmart has a package of 20 for 94 cents and none of them broke while I was installing them.

thanks buddy! i hope to see more people do it, I cant stop thinking about wanting to do the Satsohi with this stuff now.

thanks guys! Rick i got a Canon T1I. The guy who owned it before me babied it like crazy, he threw in bunch of extra stuff like batteries memory cards, a bag and all kinds of goodies. I just wish i had more lenses, I think im gonna get a 50mm lens here pretty soon

Oh I love that first night pic of your rig up on the mountain dude....makes it appear like the lower portion is disappearing due to the clear reflection of those night lights off the body panel.

You must shine this Runner like crazy? Gotta love Canon!

Definitely do it. Those Camburgs are nice and that's one hell of a deal. You might need to get the coilovers rebuilt before though.

yeah I'm trying to save money but I cant pass up a good deal!

piecing a lift together (that I want) is finally possible. maybe... How much does it cost to rebuild those things?
