Hey Guys, I need some quick input. (Thardy) has offered to install and give me a lift for way cheap, (like I can afford it cheap) I wanted to wait and do it the way i wanted the first time but this is a deal i simply cant pass up. It's the LC coils in the back with a diff drop and top plate spacers up front. They are apparently a couple years old which isn't bad. you think I should do it?

If he's willing to give you a deal on the lift and help you install it... I'd go for it. Just a heads up though... you may not like the ride of those spacers though.... so start saving for a suitable replacement.

I had spacers up front too, and OME 890's for the rear, as my first lift. When I got the LC coils and Tundra stuff... I sold my old setup for $250.00 (if I remember correctly).

I'd do the same, save up for something better for the front, and put up the spacer lift for sale. Recoup some of your costs...

thanks for the reply fightman, and yeah it's such a good deal I'm.. yeah... dont know. This will be a temporary set up for sure if I do it. I'll have the runner paid off next month so i can save for some coilovers. I'm just thinking of all the other things i'm gonna have to get to accommodate it; like bigger tires, bigger brakes lol... craziness.

My vote is you do it! LOL. Like fightman said the ride is little different but not a ton. You could definitely put it on, run it for a year or so then do the coilovers. I don't know if I would change the LCs in the future though. They give you a good height and really good ride. if you do decide to go with something else down the road you could definitely get your money back plus some if your patient. I don't really have the time to be patient right now. I need parts for the SAS. Like I said before I want to stay away from my savings account as long as possible.

I need some more opinions. So I'm gonna lift it next weekend now :guitar3:
with the lift is gonna come bigger tires. Since I can't really afford the wheels I want, I wanna dress up the ones I already have. I cant decide which one i like better. what do ya'll think?

I like the silver. You don't have a lot of red on your t4r so it kind of sticks out funny to me. I also like your wheels, which were you thinking if switching to? And what tires are you gonna get once lifted?

I love the wheels that nihkon and ripcord have. Freaking obsessed with them haha. but I'm getting duratracs for sure. I'm thinking I'm not gonna go to 33's yet because I might have clearance issues with my lop-sided bumper. On top of that, this is the daily driver so it would kill me as far as gas. Im for sure going to bump up to the 265 75's though.

So I finally got a lift. I was gonna wait until I could afford some Coilovers but I was offered such a good deal on a 3" lift, I just couldn't say no. On top of that I needed new tires and wanted a to go a little bigger, so everything just kind of fell into place.

Again HUGE-MONGOUS thanks to Thardy for doing the majority of the install and giving me the deal. We broke some tools, scraped some knuckles and broke a rear sway-bar end link washer but what is a project without trials right??

Here are specs:
Front
1.5" top plate spacers, with 1/2 inch polyurethane puck
Rear
LC coils 7.5 or 8 I'm not really sure. (See pics)
Meats
267/75/16 Duratracs for the rubba

Thanks man. I just ordered some 2nd gen sway bar links, it's a little tight back there haha. I think later on ill get some longer shocks too, I'm not sure these kyb's can take the over extension. But yeah Ill get it all together some time in the summer and we can get it done. BTW Are you doing the SAS at your house?

Looking good buddy.. glad you finally took the running boards off.. it looks mean with the new lift and rubber on it.. are you getting any sliders for some armor?

How are you liking the duratrac's? I have a little over 5k on mine and it still looks like brand new..

thanks man, you inspired me with your tires. I had to go to your build every day to lust after them. I love the DT's. I got to test them out in a massive snow storm we had today. They really did well! I didn't even hear the panic beep at all. I only saw the Traction Control light come on when i took a couple of turns. but yeah I hope i can get a good few years of these.

As for the running boards, those were off years ago! but i replaced them with the Narf Bars which i took those off 8 or 9 months ago. But yes it seriously needs some sliders! If i can kill it this summer in sales I'll get some for sure but for now I think I'm gonna save up and get some longer shocks for the back and some other minor things. I'll be replacing the front suspension set up down the road too. You know, I'm actually amazed at the ride quality with the spacers. I thought they would be much harder.

Are you running the white KYB gas adjust shocks in the back? I drove my truck around the block with my KYBs still on right after I installed my LC coils, and the shocks were literally maxing out over bumps when the coils would extend. It felt like the back wheels were going to come off the ground when the coils would rebound! Definately get those things replaced with a longer shock quick! I ran the stock LC shocks with my 7.5 wraps, and they work well.

they say they are ok for "Some" lifted vehicles so I'm hoping I can squeeze by for a little bit. They seem to ride ok, I'm still trying to pin-point what it's actually doing back there. I'm thinking I'm going to get those longer Bilstein shocks from Toytec, i havn't decided yet

Thanks man! I'm trying to remember which sliders I liked. I think it was 4X4 innovations with the kick out? not really sure haha. but yeah Im gonna make this lift more solid for weelin first and then go for some sliders. I found it's kind of hard getting in my 4runner now.

Congrats on getting it lifted, now it looks even better than it normally does. Also, on the center caps, I'd try out the silver TRD logo. I've always been curious what that would look like.

that's good to know, those Billstein's are not too pricey either. I think im gonna go that route

Thanks man, that means a lot coming you guys. I cant wait to get some armor. But yeah every time I look at it, i get all gitty now. I parked next to a stock 3rd gen the other day just to make myself It's so nice being taller than a minivan now lol.

I think I like the silver TRD logos caps too, It's more subtle. i'm going to order some pretty soon cause my procop logos are starting to come off.

The spacers are some of those metal ones that bolt on top of the strut. And then he had some 1/2 inch polyethylene spacers that sit on top of the little nub that sticks out. I don't think we had to use longer nuts, they just mounted right up
