[UT Hack]

I am disappointed in myself that I've never noticed all of you guys are from Utah... I've run the trail up to Forest Lake up at the top of tibble fork like 5 or 6 times in my truck and others. I go up there all the time!

Unless you continued up Forest Lake or Mineral Basin, i don't know if it qualifies as getting your wheels dirty:shrug: BUT it's more than I can do at the moment! Glad to see you at least off the pavement!

Hopefully someday I can get mine done so we can get some Desert Runners runs going again!

That rock garden on the way up Mineral Basin is pretty rough if I remember right, it's been a couple of years since I went that way though. My buddy and I banged up his first gen pretty good in there and he was fully armored and everything.

Forest lake is a fun trail.

went out and really tested things out with smkd. the only damage I got was when I'm pretty sure i got air i somehow knocked my A/C fan out of alignment and now it buzzes haha

I don't remember a specific rock garden on Mineral that gave me any grief - there's the one spot with the big boulder right in the middle of that offcamber washout just after the u-turn ledge that always scares the bejeezus out of me, but no rock gardens?

What's the deal with desert runner's? nobody has been really active over there!!

It's a small group. THardy has no truck, Dutchman is in the middle of buying a house, Clfrncwby has a 4 kids and a life, and everybody else just kinda wanders in and says "man this place is dead" and wanders out without posting. I think about half the threads in the upcoming trips section are mine. If we had more guys posting up runs, it wouldn't seem so dead... hint hint nudge nudge...

That would be the second one iirc and yes it sucks like hell but i got through it. it just tilts you all sorts of weird honestly

ya know, i am gonna start doing that. I am trying to go 2 times a month and it sucks trying to get a group together sometimes. like it was just me and Jared today and we had a blast ie popped his cherry and made him actually wheel his truck. I like a group of about 4-8 rigs. it is more fun that way me thinks

There's a whole grip of guys from RME heading up AFC next Friday night, gonna camp at Dutchman and then split up the next day, send the stockers over to Forest Lake and the rest of us are going up Mineral. It'll be a lot more than 4-8 rigs, you should come. Everybody should come.

It's been a few years since I went up that way towards mineral basin... It's right at the end of the dirt road, it's kind of a sweeping left that the trail narrows and theres a bunch of bushes on your left side, and then you make a slight right after that bunch of rocks and you go up a steep incline headed toward the narrow part that takes you to the top. We got stuck in that first rock garden part for a while in my buddy's first gen and then made it through there and overheated on the narrow part on the way to the top.

My description probably sucks but that's as good as I can remember because it was a while ago that we went up there.

GottaBe, is Ben telling me you have Icons but no sliders? Is that what I'm hearing?

That's what I like to see!!! :rockon: The only problem with those pics is I HATE MUD!! I'm glad you were able to get out.
