So Sleek, that last comment put me in a "I want it now" mood so I just ordered me a smoke LED 3rd brake light. Im also trying to score on a new 70264 super cooler on ebay. we'll see how that goes.

Anybody know if you can buy those resistors for the LEDs at any auto parts store or are they an only online thing?

Hahaha im soo jealous now! I went to order the red led 3 BL and they dont have any on ebay... i cant find a single one. Well i did and i ordered it then they sent me an email saying they recieved it all broken up and cannot get a replacement in ample time so they refunded my order. I wonder if they are having some issues... Im getting my LED tails in the mail tomorrow so at least that will hold me over :frog:

For the resistors radio shack should have some idk how many or what type you would need for that matter. Also VLEDs has 3 + 6 ohm resistors for the blinkers but idk whether they will do you any good.

yeah i noticed that! that was crazy cause i was thinking i might try the red one too and just smoke it but oh no. there is barely anything for the 3rd gen now. Anyway i saw a picture of the smoke one on another black 3rd gen and thought it looked pretty sick so that finally made me pull the trigger.

congrats on your LED tails though, i know i was way pumped when i got mine. it completly changes the look of everytihng. its pretty exciting which ones did you get?

buy yeah i saw some of those resistors on the VLEDs site. I freaking love those guys and im assuming their prices are prob cheaper than what i can get at the Shack. anyway i will update with pics when i get it

Haha where you took those last pictures, is right by my house, i thought it was you when i drove by. i was driving threw those warehouses testing my MAF after i cleaned it, im in a white tacoma with arb bumper in snorkel. did you see me?

you know what i think i do remember seeing you, I vaguely remember but i think i was trying to listen to hear what your snorkel sounded like. Its kind of cool area there on Geneva. There are a bunch of areas id love to do some more shots.

But Dang man if your that close we need to hit the trails, my truck has just been seeing way too much pavement lately.

I got a buddy that has a 4 door Taco; locked, lifted and everything we went out on the other side of the lake a while ago but other than that im not too familiar with the trails around here. it would be cool to get some more of the utah guys and do some trails.

I just went with the oem looking ones... I do think the smoked would look pretty legit on silver but id rather it look closest to stock. Either way like you said looks great.
It was kind of an impulse like you did on your 3 BL, i had the extra money sitting there so why not hah.

yeah i guess i kinda like vleds... i mean i only bought all of my leds from them... which i have every halogen bulb swapped to led in my truck :bigok:
Actually i nvm... all i have left is rear window button and thats it... haha

Soo i just got my led tails in the mail today...
And i started thinking this morning before i got them. I wonder if the reverse lights will be the same bulb base size since i have LED reverse lights from vleds.
Sure enough it was a different bulb, which i wasnt too happy about since i paid 50$ for them...
So what did you do with yours? I know you too have the same led reverse i have. Do you know what size bulb it is on the led tails? I may just go buy another one, they have a coupon code for 15% off code: (Rockets).
I thought about just cutting the harness and modifying the housing to fit it but just spending 145$ on them i dont exactly want to start chopping away at it hah.

i just ran into a little wall too with the 3rd led brake light. I guess resistors produce a ton of heat and im a little worried about that now. Im hoping i can be one of the lucky ones that doesn't get the ABS light code haha anyway let me know how it goes with those reverse lights

Huh... thats weird.. i have the 7440 size bulb for my reverse lights not the 921. 921 is the size for the 3rd brake light for me. Okay i found the problem... the 1999 4R had 7440 reverse bulbs and the 2001 has the 921 reverse bulbs... interesting... i could tell the difference when i compared the housings the reverse housing is alot smaller so i guess they opted for a smaller adapter to fit the smaller housing. Oh well... now i have to buy some more reverse lights... you still have that extra set? haha.

the tires are 265/70R-16 and the wheels are 16X8, and its sorta the same stock height im not sure if new shocks and struts change the stance at all or not but im running the kyb monomax series on all sides

What tire/wheel/lift combo is that?

What are the specs on your lift/wheel/tire sizes? That stance is perfect.

thanks man. unless aftermarket shocks and struts give it a lift the suspension is still stock. i just have the kyb monomax shocks and struts.

the tires are the stock size that came on the 01's. I think its 265 70R 16 with the rims being 16" of course, with a back spacing of 4.5 i believe

haha yeah man, I LOVE mine, they are way bright and it gives the back end a great look. (always wanted to do that lol) I gotta get off my ass and sell these Narf bars now so i can get me some sliders woot woot!

thanks! i appreciate that, if you have any questions about it let me know. Ive done this too many times lol! One of my autolumination bulbs finally burned out after 2 or 3 something years. I'm getting ready to tear into there again and get rid of some hot spots, and I've also got something else up my sleeves when i get in there. It's gonna be sweet!
