granite interior

I picked it up from the dealor this morning!

I had the dark grey leather and the other things I mentioned before added to it and it looks amazing !!

I drive a van normally and my friend's always tease me about my dorky "mom's van". ( I do have 2 girls, 7 & 10). But let me tell you, driving this thing is like going through a second childhood. (I'm 35-ish). I just loved the old 'muscle cars'. And this gives me a sense of re-living the freedom of the past. Hood scoop and all. Oh, I'm definately in trouble! But loving every minute of it. He might just have to buy his own. ;-)

I will take some pictures of it to show all of you and you can give me any ideas of what else you think I should do.

Have a great day everyone!

Nice. I don't like any of the stick on dash stuff I got, but I guess you have to judge for yourself. I have the toyota door sills (which I think is the boxy one) and I love them. Glad to see you are having so much fun with it. I hope you end up getting one for yourself too.

I know you said you are waiting on the bull bar or guard on the front, but if you have a decent amount of money, the JAOS ones are pretty amazing and I think almost anyone on here (with a guard) would have been happy with it if we could afford it. Personally, I picked the T&H. On second thought, all of them are pretty different, so maybe it is best to wait regardless.

Let's see some pics of your progress. :D

let me try again

Thanks...wish they offered that when I bought mine last year. My dealer didn't offer it as a dealer installed option. Something for me to consider adding in the future.

I had to go through h*ll to get the leather I did. When we were window shopping (he was here for 2 weeks on leave), both of us liked the dark grey vs the light grey. The dark is only offered with the Sport. We actually were looking at SR5 to begin with, but changed because of the coloring and a few other things (I wanted the hood scoop:-) ) When we finally decided what we wanted, the dealer 'found' us the truck. We were all excited. When it got here, it had the light grey interior. They tried everything they could to get us to take that one. But we didn't bite. I asked about changing the seats, but was told they could change from fabric to leather, but not leather to leather. So, meanwhile Bobby went back to Afghanistan. And I was scheming with the salesman to get me the fabric one, so I could upgrade to dark grey leather. Online it was showing some grey leather ones coming in, but they were all too expensive. So I ended up going the fabric way (and upgrading) and ended up getting the 115v outlet and the spoiler and the 6 disk changer and the toyo guard plus for free. The salesman kept me at same price as original one showed to us, but this one had more. :-) So I really lucked out. And Bobby thinks I'm too stressed out and just want to wait for him to get home. He will be so surprised !!
:awais:

Hey there! Nice truck, I really love the black leather, it looks really nice!

I have the Toyota door sills from Brandsport and I like those better because the "4RUNNER" logo on the front two is in the same font as the badge on the back of the car. They're a bit more expensive, but I think they look better.

Bob,
Don't look at me. I'm broke after buying the 4Runner :-)

Had just enough saved to buy the Homelink and another couple of small things !

Hmmmm - he gets a re-enlistment bonus, doesn't he ?????

Hey guys only kidding... he is active duty and retires in three years.

And Brandsport sills have it with two votes. Three if you count me. I like these better too.

So off I go to order these....

I am going to show him this board when he gets back, so I can blame all the purchases on everyone here.......

Think he'll believe me?

I don't think you'll have to pass any blame when he gets back. The ear to ear grin will wipe away just about anything else he was thinking about.

YOu sure he won't find this board while he's gone??

Very nice truck. You'll both be pleased with it !

The 'ear to ear grin' is what I'm hoping will save me.

And if he does by chance find this board, it will give him a chuckle for the rest of the time he is gone - thinking he has pulled one over on me. That he knows and I don't know that he knows.

Does that make any sense?

I received the Homelink last night when I got home from work. So I will try installing it tomorrow or Sunday. Wish me luck! I'm going to go print out the instructions that someone posted.

Very easy to install -- pull out the plate, switch over the wires, pop Homelink in. Takes about a minute. Actually took longer to program the Homelink than to install it.

By the way, you're going to have to let us know how he reacts when he gets home!

I have to tell you what I'm planning to do. I am going to take the 4Runner and have someone else drive my van to the armory on the day he comes in. No one else is driving the 4R !!! ;-)

I am going to park my van so it hides the 4Runner next to it. Then when we are all done with the ceremonies, walk to my van and ask him if he wants to drive.

If he says yes, then I pull out Toyota keys and say - then I get to drive this and point.

If he says no - then I say -here you have to drive this.

Then I get to watch his jaw drop :bugeye:

He is supposed to leave Afghanistan the last week of April. The 30th is his birthday. He should get back down here mid-May.
