I've used both Roundup and Spectracide that are sold at Lowes. I always get the concentrate though, that way I can make it as strong as I want. I've had good luck with them thew past few years.
One trick I learned is to hit all weeds with a weedeater first so there are open "tops" to the weeds, which lets the liquid penetrate better. I usually spray 3 times a year...I haven't found anything that lasts as long as it says it will.
For flower beds I use Preen before I lay down the mulch. Been using that stuff for years and had great results with it. I buy hardwood mulch, not cypress (its known to have thistle seeds in it) and lay that down about 1" thick...weed free all season.

I use spectricide for my weeds. I used a product from Ace Hardware once called Weed Impede II. It's weed killer with pre emergent in it. It's been two years and not one weed has popped up. Pricey, but obviously works.

I use Cornerstone, it works very well. Same active ingredient as roundup but cheaper although you need to buy it in larger quantities. It's $60-70/gal for concentrate but it lasts a long time. I would suspect a typical home owner may likely never need more than a gallon. I buy it at the local co-op.
I have a commercial ornamental & turf pest control license and use it at a few places where we cut grass. It typically works within a week and usually lasts 2-3 months depending on the weather. A license isn't required for purchase, just the commercial application that I do.

Haha, all in good fun. But back on topic, Spike 80 is also known as tebuthiuron (similar to urea). Very effective on shrubbery and other vascular plants as it enters through the roots. I used to use it for "monkey" grass and turfgrass. It leaves nothing alive

Yeah crossbow, I basically found out about it a few years back when I was a vendor for a local garden supply company it was a second job at night so basically we screwed around the whole time ( okay so maybe 10 years back) but it's still there. It was the only product that had any chance of killing blackberry vines. It's a little bottle that you mix with water and it last a very long time.
Try and spray whatever your trying to kill in the morning, it's most effective because the stoma in the plant is open trying to absorb water for the day, and so it will absorb the killing agent into the plant and be more effective. I'm pretty sure if I say killing one more time the NSA might track me for a few weeks, I live in the NW and the Prez is heading my why, so I'm sure they are listening.....lol

My old'timer of a neighbor use to walk around his yard with a 5- gallon propane tank and a roofing torch and just burn the crap out of all the weeds! Worked really well every once in a while he'd haul a** to the hose because he caught stuff on fire....lol
Miss that guy, he was a b-17 bomber pilot in WWII, as a kid I could always be found at his house begging him to tell me stories, never realized till I got older how hard it must have been for him to talk about it R.I.P. Walter I sure do miss you.

One gallon of vinegar, one cup of salt, one tablespoon of dish liquid. Cheap, non-toxic to pets and children, even kills poison ivy.
Yep, fire.
Alternately, the 30% vinegar that you can buy at Lowes/HD works well. Mix it with a little water in spray bottle and go nuts.
