Grease zero on front calipers?

I just followed the DIY for changing the front brakes and rotors… Just finished! I noticed that the inside pads were worn out 50% more than the outside pads… What causes this… If my pads would have worn evenly I would not have needed to change my brakes out at 45K… I noticed a grease Zirk on the upper part of the caliper should I grease that?

Uh you sure you not looking at the bleeder? Please don't try to shove grease in there.

Also did you clean and grease the guide pins when changing the brakes?

OK that makes sense… I did not try to put any grease in there… That’s why I came here to ask first. I changed out the pads the shims and the pins in the rotors… All new parts I did grease the pins before installing the new ones

The guide pins are on/in the caliper. Should have a rubber boot to make it obvious where it is. You should pull these and make sure it comes out fairly easy. If they don't make sure they aren't beat to hell and you should just be able to regrease them.

Without physically looking at them its hard to troubleshoot over the internet. Guide pins are one if one side is stuck it will apply uneven pressure.

Also I'm not sure but it the 4R dual piston or single. Maybe 1 is not working properly as well. Could be a bunch of stuff.

Sorry, I should have specified the pads that I am referencing to wearing unevenly are in the front…

The rear pads were completely even on both sides… The slide pins and boots were in proper working order… Any specific grease I should use on the rear brake caliper slide pins? I thought I read something about a specific type of grease that won’t react with the rubber boot?

The front caliper is where I was experiencing uneven wear if I remember correctly it was the inside pads on either side that were worn down to 3 mm the outside pads had over 60% life on… The front caliper is dual piston the rear caliper is single piston and seems to be some sort of a hybrid drum brake

Partially seized caliper/s would be my best guess for uneven pad wear, causing the inner pads to be in constant contact with the rotor.

The rear drum part of the rotor is for the parking brake.

Thanks for the response… For a partially seized caliper… I’m hoping that I fixed the problem by compressing the pistons in order to get the old pads out ....Time will tell I guess
