toytec is amazing.. they charged me $20 bucks for cancelling a $59 dollar order for top plate spacers

and then another $20 something for cancelling my bilstein 5100 order since offroadwarehouse down here has them in stock and is cheaper and will do the install at the same time..

so for cancelling 2 orders that total $460 they charged me $40 when it was never shipped out

if that is not the best way to do business then i have no idea what is.. i mean you can make 100% profit.. i gotta give it to them

and i know there "may" be a charge from the credit card company etc etc.. i'm a merchant myself and last time i checked visa didn't charge me $20 on a $60 charge :D

anyways.. word of advice.. if you're going to order from toytec.. you better be absolutely dam sure you want it.. since it's $20 or 5% which ever is higher

last time i visit this business

Yeah I learned my lesson from ToyTec as well. They are here is CO and rumor has it there best mechanic left them due to conflicts within the company. (Owners being @ssh0les). Bottom line is there are a lot of people to do business with...I will never deal with them again and will be surprised to see them still around in another couple years.

You can only screw people over so many times before you run out of customers :)

They were going to charge me a fee for a partial order cancellation within 24 hours but then decided not to for some reason, so I can't complain too much there. Wheeler's Off-road and Rocky Mountain Suspension have been great all the times I've dealt with them if you're looking for alternatives.

Tirerack just started stocking 5100's at very good prices. That is some pretty terrible customer service.

Well I guess I'll step up to the plate for Toytec.

My business with them has been outstanding over the years. While I'm currently waiting to order an 'Ultimate' lift while I await my new 4runner and research other options; I have always been very happy with their products and service. In one instance I ordered a series of parts for my 05 Tacoma. When the parts arrived it was clear an error was made (on their part not mine). As compensation I received the same "5% or 20$ which ever is higher" credit and they reimbursed me for the shipping and sent the correct parts overnight.
I was very happy with their service.

There are lots of other good vendors as well - I'm not a ToyTec disciple. I just wanted to share my actual experience.

I'm sorry the OP had a bad one.

Well sure they can put whatever policy they want on their policy page but doesn't mean it's good business practice or service.

I have never ever been charged a fee for cancelling an order that hasn't shipped. I have been buying car mods online for 10 years.

Either way it's all good which is why I didn't argue with them. I just hope other read this and not make the same mistake.

If a company wants to f&ck their current and future customers in the a$$ for a quick buck who am I to stop them. :D

sorry the OP feels he got shafted, but a company has the right to set polices or practices as they wish, its up to the prospective buyer to read them first then decide wether or not they wish to purchase from that company, you dont agree or like them, your free to order or buy from a different company. if someone was handed a contract in person, it would be smart to read it completely, including the small print , first, before signing . why should buying online be any different. so if a person read before hand that they may be charged a cancellation fee,& dont agree or like it, they have the freedom to not place an order. sorry, but it"s simple as that.

Like I said they can set all the policies in the world it doesn't mean it's good. No one here is saying they pulled this policy from their butt. I didn't read it therefore I didn't argue.

Point is hopefully others read this and know before ordering.

And yes dam right I feel shafted wouldn't you?

Well you "say" you are a merchant, if you are, then you damn well, that there is a charge for "chargebacks" you would know that everytime you swipe someones card, YOU are charged.
Why should Toytec be charged because YOU dont know what the hell YOU want

im not taking up for toytec but alot of company's charge restocking/cancellation fee's. no matter what or who a person buy's from, its advisable to read a companies fine print or polices before purchasing. it's just part of ordering online. Warranty and Return Policy - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

Well hes just a whinner, that "thought" he could afford something or want something, then changes his mind, and excepts the company he bought it from online to take the hit (charges) becuse he, doesnt know what he wants. He obvisoulsy either didnt take the time to read the Return Policy, is to lazy to read it, of is just trying to get over on them, then has the nerve, to try and dog that company online, hiding behind a computer.:bash:

Mods, please move this to the whining category.

Toytec, you guys are awesome.

AMEN on both, and no, I dont work there.

Very well said :bigok:

sorry again, & im not trying to pick, but as you stated, you didnt take the time to read before placing an order, so, imo, you have no right to feel shafted, its YOUR fault , not toytec's. there plenty of places to buy what you want, no one forced you to order from them, to say that toytec is out to screw it's customers is just not fair or realistic. and no, if it happened to me, (and it has in the past) i wouldnt feel shafted cause id realize it was my damn own fault.

If they really wanted to they could just say "sorry, no returns/cancellations :gun4:"

:D

Besides, just because it hadn't "shipped out" yet, doesn't mean they didn't pay someone to go grab it from the warehouse and package it.

There's a charge but not 20 for 60 transaction so don't go there.

I sure hope they give you a discount on your next purchase. Maybe you can link this thread in the order comments :D

Or at the very least they'll likely waive the fee if you decide to cancel.

Dude, you say, that you`re a merchant, Im calling BS, "if" you was, then you would know that, every single time you swipe a card, the merchant is charged, and if you have a high number of "chargebacks" your rates go up. PERIOD, but you know this, cause you are a merchant. RIGHT??
Lets not even talked about the wages they paid people to take your order, or the cost of supplies, boxes etc, that Im sure was waisted, after you, changed your mind

Again, like others have already said, ITS YOUR FAULT, you failed to read, for whatever reason, you chose NOT to read the Return policy.

For you, to even come on here, and try to bash them, after YOU screwed up, shows your lack of character.
My only question at this point is, Do you want some cheese, with that whine ?

Ive been there a few times, and to my knowlege they have never had a "mechanic"
Toytec does not do installs, therefore no need to pay a "mechanic"

You know what they say about "rumors"
Every single time that Ive stopped in, they was always, polite, friendly, took the time to answer all my questions, even recommended a few install shops or mechanics.
Yes, I stick up for a company that has always treated me RIGHT, gave me great customer service at a fair price.

I wish our resident ToyTec worker would chime in...:snacker:

you mean Ben? he's the only guy that works there

and what for 04rnr is obviously employed by them to get so worked up like he is with all the CAPS he uses in his replies

seriously tho.. i just hope people realize they have this policy as i'm pretty sure $20 cancel fee is not the norm in online retailing

no bashing here.. i gladly took the $40+ hit .. thanked Ben and he thanked me and that's it.. no arguing as i've stated.. i didn't read it so too bad.. but it's still a shaft no matter how you look at it as far as fee vs actual price ratio
