Great deal but also a problem

i took the 4runner to my uncles shop this weekend for some new tires. i got the 265/65/R17 yokohama at-s for $120 a tire :bravo: so with that deal i couldnt beat it. but as they were putting on the tires the noticed my rear brakes were low and needed to be replaced and the pins on it(not to sure what he was talking about never done brake work) were really rusted bad, with my rear brakes being done there 2 years ago he said they are still under warranty so i got new pads and all the new parts i needed for free so that was great weekend for me!

but now on to the bad part both of my cv's are throwing grease so i will need to replace them. anyone have any experience on this? i really dont have much clue to cv's so any help or suggestions would be great. also where to buy new ones. Thanks for any help!

If the boots on the CVs are good, you can reclamp them and fix the problem. Many use hose clamps, this can be fixed in under 30 minutes, no disassembly required. Do a search and you should find the info. There is a good thread on Toyota120 showinghow and what clamps to use. They make clamps with rolled edges, this is what you'll want to use. I did mine two weeks ago, no leaks yet.

i know one of the boots is torn. is there a easy fix for that?

No ready fix if its torn. There was a thread on here a couple days ago on this same issue, try looking back a page or two. The boot itself is cheap, but takes a good bit of time to install. There a good writeup that was posted showing how to change the axle, same proceed to install a new boot.
