Great end to an otherwise Awesome Vacation

I went to Hershey yesterday and on my way home this afternoon,Ii changed lanes to avoid debris from a car accident, but apparently I didn't move far enough... Only 3000 miles on my tires. We waited about an hour for Roadside Assistance from Toyota Care. Toyota gave the guy the wrong address. Now if your in my position, who would you expect to arrive? A tow truck, service truck, or something of the sort, right? Well, he finally showed up in a VW Jetta with his kids in the back seat. He wasn't sure how to assemble the rods to lower the spare tire either, that took a few minutes. Tomorrow i get to go on the hunt of getting this fixed or replaced.

I would not wait on anyone to change my tire. I just do it myself.

Believe me, I've learned my lesson. I figured Toyota had their own Roadside assistance that would be out quickly. Not some guy with his pops and kids in the car. And i figured since it was free I'd take advantage of it

You are right it was not very professional. I think they just use approved contractors. When I get a new vehicle I make it a point to get the jack and tools out and get familair with them so when there is an emergency I half way know how to change the tire. I also carry a tire plug kit and compressor with me when traveling any distance.

Oh, I know how to change it, I just didn't feel like lying on the ground changing a tire after driving 4 hours. And now that you mention it, I have to put my compressor and plug kit back in the truck. But there was no way of plugging this. I'm Hoping it can be patched from the inside and not replaced

Kneel may, but that is about it - So easy to change the tire(s) on the an SUV. I am on my 3rd with only 13k, LOL! :ybrick: Now if you are older or have a physically condition sure, but seriously, it is just a tire. I have AAA and had to call them for a tire....but.....that was because my jack broke and I did not have a can of spinach with me

Hey I resemble that remark!: We never have trouble changing a flat...we just put it up on cinder blocks and leave it.

I have 1600 miles on mine and had 1 tire replaced already and one patched all free of charge through Toyota. I did need to call roadside assistance for one of them because the car was to low to get the jack under and just didnt want to mess with it any more. The guy that showed up to help me had a Hyundai something or other and was sporting a simpsons t-shirt. I never felt like more of a sissy.

Well, i just had it fixed this morning. I called Toyota to see if the tires were covered under a road hazard warranty. They only have 3000 miles on them after all. Toyo said to call bridgestone. Bridgestone said if I had bought the tires from them, they'd be covered, but because its an OE tire, its not. I went to a recommended tire shop and they had the tire in stock, but... i came to find out Toyota uses a special tread pattern on theirs. So the shop put the tire from the spare on the alum. rim and the new tire on the spare so I'd have matching tires all around. I'll get pics up later of the hunk of metal that was in the tire.
