Green Wire

I am insulating my 4runner and when I pulled the rear carpet up I found a green wire that was attached with duct tape, and was cut at the clip. I attached pictures and if anyone knows what this wire is for and could tell me that would be great. Thanks in advanced.

It looks to me like this wire was tapped into the reverse light on the tail lights and is most likely running to a towing harness.

X2. I have that same green wire but mine runs under the truck along the frame for some reason and goes to the trailer harness.

It's not cut, that "clip" that it's in is a wire tap. You're fine, take a deep breath and relax. Life is good.

Great thanks for the reassurement. I found some other things I was not too pleased with but overall I am happy that the wire is nothing bad.
