Hello, First of all great forum! I've been lurking here throughout my search for a T4R and finally picked up a rust free 97 limited 4x4 with 80K a few nights ago. I have no service history so I plan on changing all fluids out and replacing with synthetic with the exception of the engine oil. Is there anything else I should do just to be safe? Thanks for any suggestions.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome, Thats really low miles for 97. But I guess when I bought my 2000 it only had 65 k.

I've read that changing to synthetic on anything over 60ish thousand miles could have adverse effects.

ppppssshhhhhhh, i changed mine a 100 and 17k later no probs and never going back to dino again! nothing is wrong with changing over to synthetic UNLESS you have a leaky head gasket due to the oil be thinner, may seep out more. no leaks=SYNTHETIC baby!
