Did you ever end up trying the non-oem nuts for the grille? I'm in a similar situation now trying to change my grille and need a solution for new nuts.
Yep, sure did, Boilas. Measured 'em to the best of my ability and (amazingly enough) they worked great. :lmao:
Here's a photo of the nylocs and washers ordered off of Amazon, showing part numbers. Note that you'll need both... The nyloc bases aren't quite wide enough by themselves to hold without the washers, but their threads fit the bolts perfectly.
