yes the grille can be interchanged between years 96-02 without problems..all the mounting points are the same so fitment is not an issue.

Only thing to worry about is that teh 96-98 grille sits in way further than the 99-00 or 01-02. It will look weird in proportion to the fatlip bumper most would agree.

The same goes for vice versa, the newer grilles stick out really far on the older 3rd gens but they can look good if done correctly

I used a small flathead screwdriver to push the clips in and took the bumper off for easy access to the bottom clips since I was bedlining the bumper and grill anyway that was the most logical thing to do. Only broke one clip on my old 96.
