Ground anchors. Thoughts? Expierence?

I've been looking into ground anchors. But I'm not convinced. Anyone use them? ARB? Pal? WASP? Deadman?


Thoughts or expierence on these would be helpful. I'm driving in the Sierras of northern CA (Tahoe, Mammoth, Sonora pass). Occassional find soft sand and bogs that dont have trees to help winch off of.

I saw a video the other day of a type of anchor that works great for soft sand. Its a square of fabric with straps anchored to and you bury that in the sand and tie off to the exposed straps.
