**Group Buy: Gobi Racks and accessories**

These racks are built to order, and the wait time is just a small amount of time to compare to the quality of these racks. I waited just about 10 weeks for mine, and while the wait sucked, it was well worth it. Thank you RiDE for the deals and service you are offering to the forum! I love my Gobi.

Just got the call. They are delivering my rack tonight. Thanks again for everything Mark!
Switches are in route and my light bars will be ordered next week. I will have some fun time in the garage for this long weekend.

I personally called Gobi directly. In my opinion they make a great product but due to the volume going through that shop some of their proactive communication is lacking.
I just got a call from the freight company Thursday asking if they can deliver that night. Then it was delivered about 7pm with everything but the ladder. No paper work saying it was back ordered or anything. All indications on the packing slip said it was there. Called Gobi the next day and was told it was back ordered and should ship separately next week.
Maybe it's just me but I would have communicated that in advance to avoid the follow up calls.

Generally speaking, customers should be communicating with the vendor. In this case, RiDE. They should never have to contact the manufacturer. That is the responsibility of the vendor.
This is probably some of the communication issues with GOBI. They have to deal with questions from their own customers (RiDE and myself), and deal with the customers of their distributors. That is why manf. have distributors.
Mark, it is your responsibility to take care of your customers. Not your customers responsibility to follow up on their orders. With that said, I'm glad you have the time to do this for everyone here. This is one of the main reasons I/High Tech did not want to mediate purchases for our forum. It was simply too much work.

More interested in light bar configuration
Okay, I ordered a Gobi Stealth Rack about six weeks ago through Ride, and I am perfectly fine with the wait. In fact, it gives me more time to try and figure out the light bar situation.
That brings up my question, and maybe it needs to be on another thread or it's own thread. But, does anybody have a recommendation between a single 40" rigid vs. a combo of a 20" in the middle and two 6", one on each side. I am curious about the differences in possible light patterns and wiring difficulty. Also, to use either one of those setups, should I try and catch the folks at Gobi (hopefully, before they ship) and ask for a custom configuration on the rack to accommodate the lights I decide on?

When I got a hold of Sandra she was great to work with so I have nothing bad to say there. I have just gotten used to shipping notifications and status updates which I didn't get. I'm also probably spoiled as I'm fortunate enough to have a very good friend who owns a automotive fab shop who is amazing at communication.
Regardless it is a great product and I look forward to installing it tomorrow. I have my switches and will get my lights in a few weeks. I also appreciate the work Ride is doing for the forum members. Especially knowing he is doing this in addition to his day job.
In reality I'm probably a challenge to deal with since I'm an OCD Consultant/project manager by trade so I always try to coordinate shipping, deliveries and installs around the other aspects of my life.

I had the same problem except it was with the mounting brackets being on backorder. Sandra took care of it quickly but tt would be nice to know in advance if something was missing from the shipment so I could have planned accordingly.

Just got my rack last week after an 8-week wait ... but same here ... no ladder or sunroof insert and no mention or notice from the company. I only found out they were back ordered when I emailed to ask where they were. Very frustrating. They had no estimate on when I would get the accessories. Ugh....:AK47::wtf:

When I ordered mine I asked to have the tabs welded on for a 40" E series bar. I am actually going to put a 40" Wurton LED bar on (it is a single row 10 watt bar). Wiring should not be to tough since I already have my switches wired up.
Bunch of people running 4 6" SR lights and I have also seen a 20" SR middle with two 6" SR on the outside. All perform well. I can tell you that the 20" SR I have on my bumper puts out a good amount of light.
If you haven't told GOBI Ride since you ordered through him, about the custom set up it might be to late.
I ordered mine mid December but have made changes to mine so figuring I am going to have a little longer wait. I also asked to have tabs welded on the rear of the rack for 2 6" SR lights, one on each side.
