you can get the borlas on ebay for $550 plus shipping. IMO they're the same as the trds. just thought i should let you know.

i know....
but i've read about 'drone' on the borlas...and no one will say if the TRD has a drone or not...but if they mostly the same, i'll chance the TRD and hope a drone (if any) isnt too noticable
no one has to get a TRD if they dont want to *hehe* I was just relaying what the guy sent me just in case others might be interested

hi doug, i saw in another thread that you got the trd exhaust. so now that you are in those shoes, can you please tell us all how the trd is? any drone at 2k or otherwise? how loud compared to borla? and most importantly, any sound clips???

$550!!! I can get it from the same seller you are talking about for $529 + sh.
anyway I think the TRD exhaust are knockoff re tips and label borlas exhaust.. Just like their oil filter!!:bash:

It sounds GREAT...looks GREAT!
On the inside, there is a spot around 1600-1700 that you can hear inside the car...the rest of the rpm range is pretty much quiet...it isnt that loud on the inside even at that spot...but on the outside...at wot it sounds like V8 should..VERY tough growl

a 'drone' is when the exhaust at a certain rpm is very loud inside the car...kind of like a loud moan but only at a certain spot
the TRD has a slight drone around 1500/1700rpms when holding a speed up a hill...it can be annoying if you like dead silence inside your vehicle
this is after my 5hour road trip to florida...city driving the drone isnt very noticable...just on the interstate holding a speed up a hill (best way to describe it)

Seems to me I stopped considering the TRD dual rear exhaust CAT back when I saw the low loop the pipe to the left side must take dodging the tank and rear axle. Seems like that would be the first thing to hit.
Since the Borla's are overpriced (although I have liked them on previous vehciles), I'm looking at Flow Max or Flowmaster or something like that. Dual 3" rhs outlets.
Yeah, the "moan" on my 04 has expanded from a discreet vibration at 1800 to a less discreet vibration fm around 1600 to 1900. Harmonics.
